Aiden Brenizer scored three goals and had one assist Tuesday as the Academy at Charlemont defeated the Berkshire Arts & Technology Charter School, 7-0, in a River Valley Athletic League boys’ soccer game.
Liam Fisher scored twice in the win. Nat Boyd-Owens had a goal and an assist. Sam Fisher chipped in one goal, and Tucker Zakon-Anderson had two helpers.
Sam Zakon-Anderson played well defensively in front of goalies Winston Posner and Tucker Zakon-Anderson, who combined for the shutout in goal.
DA results
Deerfield Academy swept its prep field hockey games Wednesday, as the varsity blanked Kimball Union Academy, 2-0, and the junior varsity bested Northfield Mount Hermon School, 4-1.
In boys’ soccer, Deerfield beat Westminster School, 4-1, and the JVs earned a 4-2 win over Westminster.
Deerfield’s girls’ soccer teams swept NMH, as the varsity earned a 3-2 win and the JV won 2-0.
NMH swept DA, 3-0 in varsity volleyball, and the JV downed DA, 3-2.
In JV football, Deerfield defeated Williston-Northampton School, 30-12.
FCHA Midgets lose
Franklin County Hockey Association dropped an 8-2 decision to Brattleboro, Vt., in a Midget level youth hockey game played Sunday at Collins-Moylan Arena and reported late.
Bryce Jordan and TJ Burden scored for FCHA, Cam Barnes had an assist and Nate Pelletier made 33 saves in goal.
Frontier tops Mahar
Jake Tenney scored on a 5-yard run Tuesday but Mahar Middle School suffered a 16-8 loss to Frontier Middle School in football action.
Tenney also had an interception on defense. Noah Chabot threw for 75 yards.
No stats were provided for Frontier.
Erving League
Joe Lisewski and Norm LaCoy combined for low gross with a 37 in the Timmons Memorial Golf League on Wednesday at Northfield Golf Club.
Jim Garanin and Cody Lapine took low net with a 28.
John Hoffman was closest to the pin on No. 6 (12 feet, 6 inches), and Jeff Kenney was closest on No. 7 (10-5).
John Hodgman and Norm LaCoy shared medaliost honors at 39.
Erving League
Lloyd Grover and Rodney Ebbighausen shot 39 to win low gross during the final week of play in the Erving League at the Northfield Golf Club on Tuesday.
Alec Duda and Rob Moco won low net with a 30.
Matt Deane was the match medalist with a 40. Bob Wanczyk was closest to the pin on No. 6 (13-7), while Grover was closest on No. 7 (27-3).
Between the Uprights defeated Rocketfusion.com, 6-0, in a Greenfield Men’s Touch Football League game Sunday at Green River Park in Greenfield.
