12:13 a.m. — Loud noise disturbance on East Main Street, where Control reports a group of people playing loud music while walking down the road; officer spoke to the group who turned the music down and was advised of the complaint.
1:05 a.m. — Control reports a group being loud on Russ Street, and another caller reporting the same; the group was advised of the complaint and were told again to quiet down; these was the same people as in the previous call.
2:55 a.m. — Control reports an intoxicated male walking in the road being noisy on East Main Street; the male was located, and transported to his home down the street.
8:56 a.m. — Control took a report of one loud noise, and believes it to be a gunshot. Officer checked the area, nothing found.
11:11 a.m. — Control advised they got a call about a young child sitting near the side of the road on West Main Street, and is tossing small rocks into the roadway; the child was located and was moved along.
3:01 p.m. — Detail officer reports an accident on Daniel Shays Highway, officer sent, and found it to be in New Salem; officer assisted with traffic.
3:45 p.m. — Officer wanted on Daniel Shays Highway, where Control got a call from the owner of a motel there, and is requesting officers; on arrival it was learned the individual left before officer’s arrival.
1:36 a.m. — Fire alarm box activation at Bette Fog Nozzle on Greenfield Street; units reported nothing showing at this time; fire command reports nothing audible, showing system trouble, and will continue investigating; command requests a key holder; no apparent problems detected at this time; test fire alarm activation done; command reports a supervisor will make contact with the vice president in the morning and will have the system checked out; fire prevention officer will follow up as well.
8:56 a.m. — Hazardous condition in area of Chet’s Barber Shop on Federal Street; officer and fire unit responded; and they advise cement chunks are falling from the building; one advised it is right above the awning and they will be blocking it off; area cordoned off with police tape, Fire Department and building inspector took over the follow-up; sidewalk is partly blocked at this location
10:09 a.m. — Accident reported at Dunkin’ Donuts on Mohawk Trail where the incident happen as one vehicle was turning to exit out of the lot on the north side, enter and exit, onto River Street; minor damage to the drivers side rear side, and where a U-Haul vehicle operator struck the parked and unoccupied vehicle; minor damage to the passenger’s side rear side; officer assisted with exchange of information.
1:12 p.m. — Hit and run reported at the town line on the Mohawk Trail; officer sent, located a dead deer, and moved it out of the roadway.
3:19 p.m. — Larceny reported at Domino’s Pizza on Federal Street where the manager stated he left his cell phone on the counter to charge, while he made pizza’s for about three hours; the phone was gone when he returned; officer investigating.
6:17 p.m. — Despondent person reported on Maple Street where the male was making suicide statements and would like to go to the hospital to be evaluated and treated; Baystate Franklin Medical Center was advised the police were en route to the hospital with the male.
9:14 p.m. — Clerk at the Circle K gas station on the Mohawk Trail reports a theft of beer by a white male who took off on foot, kicking the door while going out, and breaking the window; the clerk followed the male over to the Day’s Inn, where he is unsure of the male’s location; an officer found the male behind the Hampton Inn; the person was attempting to purchase the single beer and had put money on the counter, and was left behind, but the subject didn’t want to give the clerk his ID; the male did go out and kicked the glass front door, and breaking it; the subject is being summoned.
10:25 p.m. — Hazardous condition reported at/near the town line with Deerfield, on Deerfield Street, at the traffic island, Shelburne Control reports a call to the Deerfield Police of a male, wearing dark clothing, that is walking in the middle of the road coming into Greenfield; officer located the person on the island in front of the Meadows Golf Course, and he was advised.
8:51 a.m. — A larceny was listed by a dispatcher, but all information of where and what were blacked out on the log; under investigation.
11:12 a.m. — General disturbance reported on Avenue A in front of Family Dollar where the reporting person is complaining about people leaning on the mechanical horse ride machine outside; the reporting person speculated that they were dealing drugs, but when asked if she saw any drug use, drug paraphernalia, or anything changing hands between the subjects, the reporting person advised she didn’t; officer checked the area, and the subjects were all gone.
9:44 a.m. — Officer wanted on North Main Street where a call was received at the station that what appears to be a human hand, without flesh attached, was located at the rear of the barn there; after an investigation that involved CPAC from the district attorney’s office, and the Environmental Police, it was found to be the paw and foot of a bear that was recently killed, and cleaned in the area.
1:13 p.m. — Reporting person from East Main Street says that on Sept. 25, someone attempted to withdraw $13,000 from their business bank account; she contacted the bank, and today someone is, “key logging,” into the account, and she can see the mouse move; she was advised to shut it down and disconnect the power; she was also advised to contact her internet provider; no money has been taken, and she wanted this on record.
2:52 p.m. — Reporting person called to request it be logged that his neighbor’s cows are on his property again; this is an ongoing issue, and he is working with the ACO, as well as spoken with the police chief.
1:16 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at McDonald’s on Federal Street where officer found a male, who is working in the area, was taking a nap in the van there, sleeping, and was then moved along.
10:05 a.m. — Caller from Pray Drive at Greenfield Gardens apartments says her ex brought their daughter back home to her, and advised that his girlfriend had hit their daughter at a Riverside Drive location; officer spoke with the caller and she said the daughter make statements that she was slapped on her legs by the other female when at the Riverside Drive address.
1:24 p.m. — Accident reported at the Newton Street and Mohawk Trail intersection at the lights, going east bound; a BMW rear-ended a Kia, which in turn rear-ended a Dodge; the vehicles pulled into the Golden Nozzle car wash parking lot and a state trooper was on scene before one of our officers arrived; found to be minor accident with no injuries reported. An officer assisted with the paperwork.
2:30 p.m. — Report that a gray 2011 Chevy Volt has been repossessed on Main Street.
4:08 p.m. —Accident at the Four Rivers Charter School on Colrain Road; officers and Fire Department sent; both vehicles towed, but no injuries reported.
8:46 p.m. — Caller states that earlier today his wife was at the CVS store, on Federal Street, and she saw two concerning photos that were developed; the reporting person states the first picture was of nails, (small metal spike) and the second picture was of propane tanks; the reporting person states the pictures were given back to the proper person, and the clerk at the store was made aware of the pictures as well; officer spoke with the reporting person; under investigation.
3:59 p.m. — Caller from Central Street apartment building reporting a male was just photographing her car without her permission; he is now walking down Unity Street toward L Street; officer checked the area, unable to locate.
8:42 p.m. — Shoplifting, reported at Food City on Avenue A, where the clerk from the store advises someone just stole some beer and possibly something else; officer sent, services rendered.
8:49 p.m. — Accident reported on Greenfield Road where a caller reports a motorcycle flew by him, and turned up Greenfield Road from Montague City Road; the reporting person was also going up the road when he saw the motorcycle off in the woods, as if it had crashed; the reporting person got out, and helped the operator out of the woods; the operator of the cycle appeared uninjured, and a neighbor came out and gave the operator a ride somewhere; the bike was left where it had crashed; officer checked and found the plate to the bike, and then located the owner/operator at home, and brought him back to the crash site; the bike was removed from woods and towed. Summons being issued.
10:46 p.m. — Caller from Church Street reports he is from a repossession company, and the male owner of a car there is trying to start a fight with him; officer sent, and peace was restored.
12:10 a.m. — Control got a call from Mattawa Circle that a bear is in the reporting person’s backyard; the caller was advised not to go near the bear, as it should just carry on.
6:20 a.m. — Control reports a tree blocking the roadway; Orange Highway Department was contacted and they will handle it.
8:25 a.m. — A man came into the station to report he was just assaulted by a man he knows at the store on East Main Street; in speaking with the reporting person he states the other person came into the store and pushed him, and the reporting person wants to take out charges; in looking at the security footage inside the store it shows the other man passes by, but there is no assault (push) that occurred and the reporting person was informed that no charges will be taken out by the police.
8:57 a.m. — Person came into the station reporting that when he left the station a short while ago, after talking with an officer, the other person involved tailgated him; he was headed home and ended up coming back here due to safety concerns; he was advised to go to court regarding a 209A hearing.
1:40 p.m. — Resident came to the station reporting they bought an Ipad on an internet yard sale from a person in the Tully district; it won’t open without the password, and the seller refuses to provide it; the reporting person was told to speak with them as there is a concern it may be stolen, and the person was told to provide police with a serial number, and it would be checked.
6:49 p.m. — Caller reports individuals yelling and screaming at the East River Street location and on arrival the officer spoke with the involved people who said it was verbal only. Peace was restored.
1:42 a.m. — The Samaritans hotline called and stated they were talking to an involved male who is feeling suicidal, and the reporting person advised the male stated he wanted to “jump off a bridge.” Police were dispatched and made contact with the male caller; an officer then advises they will be bringing a male to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
1:07 p.m. — Hit and run reported at Home Depot on the Mohawk Trail where the operator of a vehicle is to return to the scene to complete a paper exchange; the suspect vehicle intimidating a witness, reported to have struck a platform cart, and that cart struck a victim’s vehicle, causing damage; the driver of the other car returned and he was unaware that he had cause any damage; information exchanged.
3:14 p.m. — Caller from Conway Street would like an officer regarding her best friend who stole the reporting person’s medical marijuana; the reporting person says the other person gave her some marijuana, and that it is left out for other people to steal; one person reports that the other female broke into her bedroom and she wants to know whet her options are; officer advised both parents of their options and the ramification that could follow.
3:36 p.m. — Report of a wire down on Country Club Road; Eversource was advised of a priority one primary lines down of the roadway; Eversource advises of a 20 minutes ETA.
4:43 p.m. — Larceny reports at Oak Courts where the caller would like to speak with an officer regarding his child’s bike being stolen; officer investigating.
7:13 p.m. — Gun call north of Barton Road and Country Club road where the reporting person states someone is shooting in the area; the reporting person states that this is a regular occurrence and believes it may be someone who lives up there; the reporting person is concerned that it is now after dark, and they are still shooting; area checked, and all was quiet.
12:23 a.m. — Caller from Fourth Street location reports hearing people in the empty apartment above him, jumping around; no one found on the second floor; the door was barricaded and officers had to force their way in.
7:57 a.m. — Caller from First Light about property in vicinity of the old Railroad Salvage on Power Street, and requests an officer regarding a trespassing issue with at least one tent set up in that area; officer checked the area, and no one around, but there is a tent set up in the woods, with a couple of chairs and a few items around it; the reporting person called back to say they will be putting a letter on the tent to give the owner some time to remove it before they take it down; the note will state that if it isn’t removed by tomorrow morning they will be removing it.
8:35 a.m. — Shoplifting, reported at Food City on Avenue A and the store requested an officer to review surveillance footage from an incident that occurred last night; officer found it to be the same incident as last night and will obtain a copy for the investigating officer.
9:35 a.m. — Report of a disabled vehicle on South Main Street; officer helped to push it into a safe area, while the owner awaited a tow.
9:58 a.m. — Control got a call about a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on West River Street; a parking ticket was issued for the violation.
1:43 a.m. — Breaking and entering reported on East Main Street where the property owner says a cellar window was broken sometime since Labor Day, and someone got inside, and left out through a cellar door; a piece of mason stone was thrown through a cellar window; officer sent and a walk through of the residence was done, and no other damage was observed; the reporting person would like this on record for insurance purposes.
2:50 p.m. — Reporting person states that a tenant broke into the apartment door; the other person involved claimed that his belongings have been stored inside the apartment for 11 months, and the reporting person/landlord gave his permission; they are currently in the court going though an eviction process; he was advised to take documents to the next hearing, as this is a civil issue.
3:46 p.m. — Caller reports a white male with dark hair walking around with a stick, and shouting at himself, on King Street; on officer’s arrival he noted the known male was walking toward home, and wasn’t carrying anything at this time.
4:21 p.m. — Control advised a reporting person on Roche Avenue stated that while walking his dog in that area, he came across several bear paws and a skinned raccoon in a small wooded area; officer contacted the Environmental Police, and advised them of the situation, but after speaking with a lieutenant from that force, it was determined that this was not suspicious, because bear hunting season had just canceled; the EPO advised they weren’t going to take further action with this incident.
8:45 p.m. — Walk-in male along with a girlfriend came into the station to report an assault; both stated that while walking on East River Street about an hour ago, the reporting person was pushed from behind by an unknown person causing his school-issued laptop computer to fall on the sidewalk causing damage; following a lengthy discussion it was learned that the reporting person dropped the computer while hanging out on the bleachers at the town park; both made up the story because of the agreement signed with the school that the person issued the computer would be responsible to pay for any damage; both were advised that making false reports to police is criminal, and telling the truth is always the best.
1:02 a.m. — Disturbance reported in area of Dunkin Donuts on the Mohawk Trail and near Applebee’s in the same area, where the caller says two males are pushing each other; the first male is white, and the second is black; she says she drove by them roughly five minutes ago and they were pushing each other in the roadway; officers sent and located both males; both are coworkers looking to make their way back to the Hampton Inn; no reports of fighting or argument; the were sent on their way with no further incident.
6:06 a.m. — Report from area of Argotec on Silvio O. Conte Drive where a black Chevy vehicle has been repossessed.
6:59 a.m. — Caller from Bernardston Road reports an unwanted person at that location where the male slept in one of their vehicles last night; officer spoke with a known subject who was tired, and admitted sleeping in a vehicle on the property; and he was moved along.
7:51 a.m. — Accident on the Interstate 91 rotary; two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported; first vehicle operator believed the other vehicle was pulling into the rotary, and the first vehicle started forward, and rear-ended the other vehicle; the first vehicle operator was cited for failure to use care in starting. Damage to the first vehicle was a minor front bumper damage on the driver’s side, and there was no apparent damage to the other vehicle, where a metal step was struck.
9:37 a.m. — Walk-in reports children on Chapman Street threw a rock while playing and accidentally hit her vehicle; she was advised of options including insurance claims and court options.
9:53 a.m. — Report of a breaking and entering, on Wells Street; officer to investigate where the walk in reported his brother entered his property and took his backpack and other stuff; officer learned this incident happened around Sept. 23, and the reporting person was unable to give further description of the backpack or items. Report issued.
