A Recorder article, Sept. 16, in regard to the Turners Falls High School mascot discussion. David Detmold makes this analogy. “When you think about it, it’s sort of like, what would you name a sports team in the town of Auschwitz? Would you name it the Hitler Jews? It’s a very similar situation.”
Wow! David, I’m sure you’re jesting. Or at least I hope you are. Your association is absurd! If you had a real sense of, or for TFHS history you’d clearly understand the NON-detrimental use of the Indian mascot.
