4:57 p.m. — Accident reported at the Interstate 91 rotary from where the reporting person says a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, with injury; fire department was toned and is en route; Medcare also notified. Officer then went with the Baystate Franklin Medical Center with the patient’s property.
5:19 p.m. — Accident at Federal and Silver streets, two-car accident; then one vehicle struck a pole; there is airbag deployment; fire department and Medcare notified; Eversource was advised, but pole doesn’t appear to be compromised; tow requested for the Honda CRV, and the tow was then on scene; one male operator was cited for failing to use caution when merging; a female was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
5:45 p.m. — A landlord on Mill Street was irate over narcotics dealing from the third-floor apartment; she found some in the driveway; they were seized and placed into the property locker. Report taken.
6:09 p.m. — Multiple calls that lights are not working, eastbound, at Federal and Silver streets. Officer to check.
7:13 p.m. — Disturbance reported at the town Planning Department on Main Street office location where part of the Planning and Development Committee is requesting four or five people be escorted out of the meeting that is happening currently, as the people are, “being rude and interrupting the meeting.” Officers sent, services rendered.
7:49 p.m. — Medical alarm at Greenfield Country Estates on Adams Road where the Lifeline alarm for a female that has fallen requesting a lift assist, and attempted to transfer to Medcare, but the operator hung up; information given to Medcare, and they then requested assistance from the Fire Department.
8:26 p.m. — Medical alarm from Ester Avenue where a Lifeline alarm came in for a person that is requesting a lift assistance; again attempted to send the medical direct to Medcare, but the operator disconnected; Medcare was given the information.
9:10 a.m. — Caller from Holtshire Road reporting illegal dumping of five bags of trash at the end of the road; situation investigated, and later removed by the town highway department.
3:15 p.m. — Accident reported on Main Street; two cars, with injury; one female was transported to Athol Memorial Hospital; under investigation.
5:50 p.m. — Control advised the Fire Department is responding to the house on the corner of Lincoln Avenue and North Main Street for someone burning some type of plastic in their backyard; the Fire Department extinguished a small outside fire.
6:48 p.m. — Report of a possible fight involving four people on South Main Street; officers found two people who had a verbal argument, and others got involved; one walked home and will stay in for the night.
4:59 a.m. — Disturbance on Kenwood Street where the caller is complaining about noise from a truck that is making a delivery there, he advised this has been happening on a daily basis; the reporting person said he has been in contact with a police lieutenant regarding this issue in the past; the truck was gone on officer’s arrival.
10:40 a.m. — Accident at Maple and High streets, a truck and a car involved; operators refused medical attention; one vehicle towed.
1:18 p.m. — A caller at Cedar Glen Circle reported a vehicle in the bushes. An investigation by Sgt. James Rode resulted in the arrest of Ann H. Keen, 64, of 34 Cedar Glen Circle. Keen was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor for the fourth time, having a blood alcohol content of more than 0.08, leaving the scene of property damage and operating a motor vehicle after her right to operate was revoked. Her bail was set for $2,500 and her vehicle, a red 2012 Ford Focus, was towed by Koch’s Automotive.
3:15 p.m. — A caller reported a hit and run approximately an hour earlier on Interstate 91. She said a yellow or green colored sedan with an unknown license plate number caused damage to the passenger side of her vehicle. The Massachusetts State Police were contacted and an officer was sent to speak with the caller.
5:05 a.m. — A caller at Hope St. said his vehicle, a gray 2000 Toyota Camry, was struck overnight. The vehicle had been parked on the street in front of his location since 7:45 p.m. Friday, and the caller noticed the damage when leaving for work Saturday morning. The front driver’s side quarter panel was damaged and blue or green paint was transferred onto the caller’s vehicle.
Greenfield, Sept. 19
11:49 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Ester Avenue where the caller got a strange phone call asking if his wife is still alive, and that the call came from a Washington, D.C. number; the caller requested to speak with the reporting person’s wife, and know if she was still alive or deceased; but the reporting person gave no information, and that caller hung up. An officer researched the number on line and it had posts indicating the number is related to false, scam, debt collections requests.
1:56 p.m. — Caller from Mill Street reports someone tried to open a checking account in her name, as well as obtain four credit cards; the subject has received several credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) and a letter confirming that she opened a checking account at the Pentagon Federal Credit Union; she was advised to invest in a locking mailbox; under investigation.
3:02 p.m. — Report of an accident at the Interstate 91 rotary; officer and Fire Department sent; two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported. Both vehicles had to be towed.; officer assisted with exchange of information.
3:42 p.m. — Breaking-and-entering attempt reported on Conway Street where the caller says a person tried to enter his home through the front door, but left when he realized the reporting person was at home; services rendered.
4:31 p.m. — Caller from the Weldon House reports his friend is stating that he is going to commit suicide using pills and heroin; he just spoke to him a little while ago, and is trying to get to him; officer on scene advises they are administering Nacan; an officer was then en route to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, following Medcare.
4:33 p.m. — Report of an argument/disturbance on Miles Street, officer found there was an argument over $30; it was discussed to a conclusion.
5:30 p.m. — Carbon monoxide alarm sounding at the Country Club of Greenfield on Country Club Road; Fire Department sent, and handling.
7:39 p.m. — Welfare check requested for a person on Lover’s Lane, a male who has been in crisis and missed an appointment today, and his phone is off; officer located the man, and arrested was John Francis Graham, 27, of Lover’s Lane, Greenfield, on a court warrant.
10:13 p.m. — Caller reports a suicidal female that is reportedly on the bridge next to Dunkin Donuts and River Street making statements to have taken an unknown number of pills; the caller advised a Section 12 process is en route; officers located the female, and are now requesting Medcare; the patient was then placed in care of Medcare, and taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, with an officer following.
1:42 a.m. — Traffic stop on Chapman Street; investigation leads to arrest of Mary Ruth Wojtkielewicz, 28, of Franklin Street, Millers Falls, on a warrant and operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, motor vehicle lights violation, possessing a Class B drug, and possessing a Class E drug.
6:08 a.m.— Report of a repossession of a blue 2011, Ford Escape, on Silver Street.
8:59 a.m. — Caller from Shattuck Street requesting an officer in reference to a case against her partner, and concerns about having to go to court; the reporting person reports she wants to drop charges in a domestic assault and battery case; she was referred to the district attorney’s office.
9:39 a.m. — Wire down on Summer Street; fire command on scene requests dispatch to get hold of the phone company, as the wire is blocking the road and still connected to two poles; Verizon advises they will let a foreman know.
1:27 p.m. — Caller reports an accident in CVS parking lots, but no injuries reported; the operators exchanged information.
1:29 p.m. — Caller from Burnham Road referring to a person going through his recycling container, and saw them doing the same to the neighbors; officer spoke with the reporting person and advised them to take care with personal information.
2:20 p.m. — Accident reported at Federal and High streets; a Toyota Corolla stopped in traffic, and a black Acura sedan struck them from the rear, but no injuries reported, and no tow needed.
2:25 p.m. — Request that police check on a person at the Federal Street location near the Lundgren Honda facility; the intoxicated male was taken into the care of a friend; he wasn’t a protective custody subject, and the male left with the female.
2:31 p.m. — Larceny reported on School Street where the caller says a $6 folding chair was removed off her porch, but no suspects and no known time frame; services rendered.
2:41 p.m. — Caller from area of the Mohawk Trail and the Big Y Foods area where the caller reported a truck lost some bottles in the roadway, and there is glass in both lanes; the driver was trying to clean it up, but the caller is concerned they won’t be able to be able to clean it up due to the traffic; it was referred to the state DPW.
2:46 p.m. — Report of malicious destruction of property, on Devens Street where there was a report of a malicious destruction of property, when this property is an issue with a female who broke a window this morning; officer to investigate.
6:01 p.m.— Parking problem reported on Beacon Field and a report of cars and operators ignoring the signs for no parking on grass; officer sent and handled the issue.
6:46 p.m.— Caller from Keegan Lane reports three younger males broke into the shared basement at this location in an attempt to gain access to an apartment; the same was advising her husband is in the basement with them, and they are being verbally combative, and she is concerned for his safety; while on the line, the caller’s husband returned to his condo, and advised the people involved made it inside the apartment.
8:34 p.m. — Despondent person reported at Baystate Franklin Medical Center and the caller reports the male, possibly intoxicated, wants to leave the ER, and isn’t cooperative; officer sent, but they were all set; officers assisted the medical staff with getting a Section 12 patient back in for treatment; and stood by while medication was administered.
10:14 p.m. — Report that a gray 2013 Hyundai Sonata has been repossessed on Grove Street.
Greenfield, Sept. 21
1:52 a.m. — Burglar alarm sounding at The Recorder on Hope Street, showing general alarm; officers confirmed an employee from downstairs went up to a secure area to purchase a soda; accidental by an employee.
2:04 a.m. — Report of a breaking and entering, at Brown Motors on Beacon Street; caller from a ServiceNet facility then reports he saw a male, dressed all in black with a beard, come out of the shadows near the hospital; the male was walking down toward Federal Street; officers searched the area but unable to locate.
3:13 a.m. — Officer investigating Suspicious activity behind the Franklin Recovery Center Behavioral Health on Federal Street (the old Lunt Silversmith area) and sees people on top of the dugouts in the back field; officers found them to be sleeping on dugout roofs, and they were identified and moved along.
7:49 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a moor vehicle on Dunnell Road, officer to investigate and found the vehicles were gone through, glove box open, gym bag open, doors left ajar; nothing taken, but the caller doesn’t wish to speak with an officer.
