Payton Bykoski, Dominic Stewart and Ayden Syvigny came up huge defensively for Mahar Middle School as the Senators played Great Falls Middle School to a 6-6 football draw Tuesday.
Syvigny scored the lone Mahar touchdown on a 30-yard run.

Timmons Memorial League
Duff Delano and Scott Powers combined on a 33 for low gross in the Timmons Memorial Golf League on Wednesday at Northfield Golf Club.
Jesse Putnam and Ray Kendrick claimed low net with a 26.
Norm LaCoy was closest to the pin on No. 6 (4 feet, 5 inches), and Ray Kendrick came closest on No. 7 (5-10).
Match medalist was Ray Kendrick with a 36.
Erving League
Duff Delano and Dennis Fournier combined for a 37 to score low-gross honors in the Erving League Tuesday at Northfield Golf Club.
Tim King and Rodney Ebbighausen won low net with a 29 after a match of cards.
Dennis Fournier was closest to the pin on No. 6 (16 feet, 11 inches) and Doug Farrick put it closest on No. 7 (11-3).
Duff Delano was match medalist with a 37.
The annual Erving League Scramble will be held Oct. 15. There are spots available for non-league players.
TFHS alumni tourney
The inaugural Turners Falls High School Alumni Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 8 at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.
The four-person scramble starts at 9 a.m. with a shotgun scramble. Cost is $65 per player, including greens fees, cart and a steak dinner.

PV pole vault school
The Pioneer Valley Pole Vault School in Bernardston is open by appointment for individual and group lessons through the fall with negotiable rates.
Lessons will be taught by Pioneer Valley Regional School track and Northfield Mount Hermon pole-vault coach Jim Bell, himself a Masters pole vaulter.
