Straw Weavings: Through Oct. 31. The Wendell Free Library is pleased to announce a special exhibition of Straw Weavings by Kathy Morris of Royalston. On Sept. 23 at 7 p.m., in the Herrick Room, she will be giving a presentation on the palm-leaf and hat straw weaving industry from the late 1700s through the early 1900s, with an emphasis on the introduction of palm-leaf plaiting in Wendell.
