10:05 a.m. — Reporting person says that someone has stolen her double jogging stroller from her porch, and has left an older, single stroller, there instead; the reporting person advises her neighbor believes she might know who took it; the reporting person is currently in Northampton but will call once she is home.
7:25 p.m. — Hit-and-run accident at the Greenfield Savings Bank on Avenue A where the caller says that while there, a woman in a gray Chevy hit her vehicle from behind; caller states both vehicles pulled into Food City parking lot and the reporting person and the other female got out, and got into a small argument about the incident; the woman in the gray vehicle decided to take off, and she ran over some bushes before getting back on to Avenue A; officer speaking with the reporting person and then went over to the address of the registered owner of the gray vehicle, and found minor damage observed.
9:58 p.m. — Caller thinks he may have just heard two gunshots coming from down along the river, near his home on Newton Street, in Millers Falls; officer requested checking with Erving Police to check their side of the river, but our officer was unable to hear or see anything in the area; he spoke to another resident who didn’t hear anything; there is a train idling in the area.
9:37 a.m. — Control reports a transformer has blown on Haskins Road; on officer’s arrival the Orange Fire Department was on scene, but no fire; control notified National Grid.
2:51 p.m. — Control reports a caller from East River Street would like a return call regarding threatening and harassing text messages; officer spoke with the reporting person regarding options and she will apply for a 258E order.
6:33 p.m. — The reporting person from Sandrah Drive called as he just arrived home and found the windshield wipers on two trucks, that were parked in his driveway, were turned around; there was also a bent wiper arm on one of the trucks; he was advised it would be logged and we would do some extra patrols.
12:58 a.m. — Suspicious activity at Beacon Field where an officer was checking on a white Ford, and found two males currently homeless, and they were advised of a better place to sleep.
1:12 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Kimball Drive where an officer found a Greenfield Community College student from Worcester, trying to find a place for the night due to an early class trip; he was advised to find a safer place to stay.
5:17 a.m. — Report of a hit-and-run accident on Laurel Street where the caller says a truck that is part of the Franklin County Fair, hit her mailbox, and didn’t stop; the reporting person says her husband confronted the man at the fairgrounds and the man stated he would be at their house shortly to resolve he issue; the male has still not shown up at this time and that was 30 minutes ago. Officer found the driver of the tractor-trailer unit left back toward the New York area, and spoke with the on-site manager, who will have the show owner contact the officer for a follow-up.
8:11 a.m. — Larceny reported near Antonio’s Pizza on Main Street; two freshly muraled meters, were taken, along with the post.
9:10 a.m. — Suspicious activity found behind a building on Legion Avenue where the officer found subjects on the back stairs of the former Legion building, with marijuana, and no trespassing sign above their heads; other units requested, and one person was issued a civil violation notice for the marijuana; verbal warning to both regarding the trespassing, and both were moved along.
10:42 a.m. — Caller from the ServiceNet facility on Prospect Street reports a motor vehicle on fire; Fire Department was notified and officer dispatched; found to be a small fire in the engine compartment; it was extinguished.
2:11 p.m. — Officer requested to give information to the overnight shift to check area of the vehicle parking area at the high school for a blue 2009 Ford Fusion, parking at the school early in the morning, and the subjects were smoking marijuana.
2:17 p.m. — Request from the Valero station on the Mohawk Trail requests police check on a woman in the store after being dropped off; she seems confused, and somehow a male was contacted by phone, who requested the police place her in protective custody; officer on scene and now requesting Medcare, as the female has a possible head injury, and she was erratic, very confused and unable to complete rational thoughts, maybe drug induced; Medcare transported her to Baystate Franklin Medical Center for evaluation.
2:21 p.m. — Officer reporting an accident involving a cruiser, on Eunice Williams Drive, but no injuries reported.
2:58 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at Copy Cat Print Shop on Main Street where officers were sent; an older male was in the store and being belligerent; he went outside and got on his bicycle and rode toward Federal Street while the call was being made.
4:26 p.m. — Police requested to check on a person on Devens Street; nothing needed, but provided information about detox and court options for help with alcoholism.
5:20 p.m. — Walk-in person wishes to report fraud and larceny from her granddaughter stemming from her use without authority of the reporting person’s vehicle, from 8/29/16; services rendered. Situation investigated.
6:16 p.m. — Report of lost property at Green Fields Market on Main Street where the person says an iMac laptop, silver, with engraving of identification on the back.
10:27 p.m. — Caller from West Street reports she believes somebody had broken into her mother’s house in the past half hour; she reports that the porch door was left open, and there is a chair knocked over; caller also states there is a purse currently missing from that location, she says she is currently inside her mother’s house right now, and nobody else appears to be present; officer investigating.
8:31 a.m. — Shoplifting, reported at Food City on Avenue A, manager believes the white female involved put some unpaid for items in her bag, and that he believes she stuffed razors and deodorant in her purse; officer located the woman nearby at Freedom Credit Union, and is taking her back to Food City; all items have been returned back to the store; manager may still press charges; officer then transported the female to her residence.
11:14 a.m. — Reporting person from Crescent Street, states she found a previously exploded firework in her mailbox. Officer spoke to all involved people about this incident, still under investigation.
4:56 p.m. — Caller from the F.L. Roberts station and store on Third Street states she would like an officer to view footage of a past shoplifting incident; found that the subject involved is outside this address, by the propane tank; summons will be sent to the 57-year-old man from 11th Street, in Turners Falls for shoplifting, third offense.
10:24 p.m. — Reporting person from G Street reports he went for a walk and returned to his home to find out that his debit card and car were stolen; the reporting person states that his wife’s brother called, and stated that he took the vehicle, and crashed it; a tow truck from Florence called the reporting person and stated they have the car; Northampton Police says the accident occurred at Autobon and Reservoir Road, and Northampton Police cited the operator for failing to stop. Officers responded from here, and the other involved person will take time to write her statement, and the detective will follow up with her in the morning.
12 p.m. — Reporting person says that about 11:30 a.m. a man came to her door; she had her screen door locked, when she approached the door to see what he wanted, he tried to open her screen door; he told her he was looking for (a named person) that used to live in the neighborhood; she told him she wasn’t familiar with the person, and he tried to engage her in conversation, but she ended it, and he left; she wanted this on record in case there are more issues; cruisers were notified.
10:16 p.m.— Control advised of a reporting person on East Main Street who states there is a male throwing trash all over the side walk and street; on arrival, the male was found with a large rock in his hand, he was taken into custody; arrested was Michael W. Roberts, 22, of Russ Street, Orange, charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and refusing to removed a substance thrown on a public way.
12:01 a.m. — Disturbance at Patriot Care on Legion Avenue, where caller reports people are sitting outside the steps on this location being loud; reporting person also thinks they are drinking, because they are talking loud; officers arrived to see the three people sitting on the step with beers, and were found to be drinking them on the steps of the Legion building; all three were summoned, and an 18-year-old boy from Oak Street in Greenfield, a 32-year-old man from New Plain Road in Northfield, and a 28-year-old man from Colrain Road in Greenfield, were being summoned for trespassing, or for having an open container of, or drinking from, a container of alcohol, in public.
12:08 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported on School Street by a walk-in who says she found disturbing material in her mail box and would like to speak with an officer; the officer spoke with her regarding a letter found in the mail box but the reporting person was unaware of who might have left it, and she has no current issues with any neighbors, or others; no surveillance available at this location; officer investigating.
12:31 a.m. — Larceny reported from Union Street where the caller states that her boyfriend took $780 from her; the reporting person says it occurred between 8 and 11:59 p.m. and that she is unsure where her boyfriend resides and currently is at this time; the male texted around 8 p.m., and the officer attempted to call the phone number for the male which was provided by the reporting person, but the message states that the number has been disconnected. Officer to follow up.
2:09 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported on West Street; officer to investigate.
11:29 a.m. — Alarm sounding from former People’s United Bank on Mohawk Trail, one that is closed, but the front door, rear door, and lobby motion alarms were recorded; local locksmith is now on scene, the bank doors were open and no one inside, the building was empty; a security technician was there to re-key the building.
