Alfie Mitchell and John Passiglia finished with 36 points to win the second half of the Matt’s Men’s Golf League on Tuesday at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.

Jon Hall and Noah Wallace were the runners-up with 33 points. Bob White and Bill Kimball took third with 30½.

George Handschuh fired a 2-under 33 to claim low gross. Rob Broussard had the low net score of 29.

Matt Betsold was closest to the pin on No. 7 (17 feet, 9 inches). Wendell Barton was closest on No. 9 (4-8).

Erving League

Trevor Blake and Jack Letourneau combined to shoot a 36 for low gross in the Erving Golf League Tuesday at Northfield Golf Club.

Marty Adams and Mike Arsenault won low net with a 27.

Blake was closest to the pin on No. 6 (21-9). Bob Wanczyk was closest on No. 7 (17-7).

Blake was also match medalist with a 37.

After 17 weeks of play, Ben Herk has 33 points to lead the scoring race for the Erving Cup. Matt Deane is second with 27 points and Rodney Ebbighausen sits in third at 24.

CCG Women

The Country Club of Greenfield Women’s 18-Hole Laague and the Men’s Morning Crew played their annual fundraising tournament for Holy Trinity and Blessed Sacrament Food Bank.

Each team donated nonperishable goods as their tournament entry fee.

Richard Rockstroh, Steve Putnam, Mike Larabee and Maureen Barclay won the event with a 62. Second place went to Gordon Parker, Forbes Byron, Barb Killeen and Anne Echeverria with a 64.

Edge Hill Men’s

Mark Vandale regsitered a plus-4 for top point quota and carded a 32 for low net in the A Division of the Edge Hill Men’s Golf League on Tuesday in Ashfield.

Bill Buck shot an even-par 36 for low gross and was closest to the pin on No. 10 (6-0).

Paul Champgny recorded a double win in the B Division with a plus-7½ for top point quota and a 40 for low gross.

Tom Lively also had two wins, taking low net with a 35 and coming closest to the pin on No. 10 (3-0).

Edge Hill Stroke Play

Bill Buck posted a 36-hole total of 158 to win the Edge Hill Stroke Play Championship Saturday at Edge Hill Golf Course in Ashfield.

Peter Zale earned low net honors with 132.

In the Ladies Division, June Heideman carded a 36-hole total of 184 for low gross, while Ellen Bitzer’s 155 was good for low net.

Mark K Memorial

Frank Prondecki, Geoerge Platek, Dick Thomas and Barb Earle combined for a low net of 59 in the Mark K Memorial Mixed Golf League on Monday at Oak Ridge Golf Club in Gill.

Second place (after a match of cards) went to Don Roy, Rod Duda, Bob Barrus and Tim Lang with a 60.

The league’s end-of-year tournament will be held on Sept. 24 at 8 a.m. It includes a post-round meal.

EDGE tournament

The 10th annual Edge Basketball Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 17 at Northfield Golf Course.

Entry fee for the 9 a.m. shotgun start event is $260 per team and includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, food on the course throughout the day, prizes and a post-tournament meal and prizes.

Babe Ruth Fall Ball

The Franklin County Babe Ruth Fall Baseball League will hold registrations Wednesday and Thursday night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Abercrombie Field in Greenfield.

The team is open to players ages 12 and 13 (as of April 30, 2016), and home games will be played at Abercrombie Field on a 90-foot diamond.

Franklin Tech practice

Franklin County Technical School has announced practice times for all fall sports.

There is a mandatory informational meeting on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gymnasium at the school. All parents and prospective student athletes must attend. Players will receive mandatory information on school and MIAA policies and procedures, and there will be a mandatory session on concussion safety, as well as a presentation about health risks.

As for practice times:

• Football — Monday through Friday, 3:30 to 6 p.m.

• Field hockey — Thurdsay from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

• Cross country — Thursday at 9 a.m.

• Girls’ soccer — Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

All players must have a medical exam within 13 months of the first practice date on record with the school in order to be eligible. Players are ineligible to participate on the exact day 13 months from their last physical.

Turners Falls High School has announced times and places for its opening days of practice for fall sports:

• Boys’ soccer (Turners/Franklin County Tech cooperative team) — Thursday at 3 p.m. at Franklin Tech soccer field.

• Golf — Thursday at 11 a.m. at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club.

• Field hockey — Varsity and middle school Thursday and Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Community service on Aug. 27 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

• Volleyball — Varsity on Thursday and Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

• Cheerleading — Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

• Middle school soccer — First day of school, 3 to 5 p.m.

All athletes must attend the Opioid Presentation on Sept. 1 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the school theater.

Turners FH fundraiser

The Turners Falls High School field hockey team is hosting a can/bottle drive Saturday.

Donations can be dropped off at Turners Falls High School or behind Ruggeri’s on Deerfield Street in Greenfield from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Pioneer fall sports

Pioneer Valley Regional School hads announced dates for fall sports and other information:

Football practice (all levels) will be held today from 8:30 to 11 a.m., Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., the schol will host Team Night for all sports and levels. Athletes, parents and coaches are encouraged to attend. The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office will be presenting, and there will be a Meet the Coach so parents can receive their child’s team and season information.

On Thursday, practices begin for all other fall sports and levels. Practice times will be announced at Team Night.

• Pioneer is also seeking coaches for the following positions: middle school girls’ soccer, junior varsity volleyball.
