Marshall Sisson, Rob Dishard and Brody Markol homered Monday evening to lead St. Stanislaus Society to a 24-5 win over Artscape in a Montague Co-Rec Adult Softball League slo-pitch playoff game at Unity Park in Turners Falls.
St. Stan’s advances in the winners’ bracket of the double-elimination tournament and will face Between the Uprights Thursday evening.
• Ryan Bernard hit an inside-the-park home run and also doubled to lead Travel Kuz to a 16-10 win over Hubie’s Tavern Monday.
Mitch Mailloux went 3-for-4 with a home run in the win, Bill Butynski went 3-for-4 with a double, and Kelly Sadler went 2-for-4.
Shane Novak went 2-for-4 with a home run for Hubie’s, Nate Pecor homered and Sue Mailloux had a hit.
Main Street Bar champs
Marshall Sisson went 9-for-12 with two home runs, two triples and two doubles over the weekend to win the Male Most Valuable Player Award as Main Street Bar & Grille won the Greenfield Co-Rec Adult Softball League championship.
Main Street won three games Saturday and wrapped up an undefeated season. The champs defeated Beck’s Automotive, 9-1, and Brad’s Place, 3-1, to make the title game of the double-elimination tournament, and then beat Brad’s Place, 12-7, in the finals.
Don Mailloux went 9-for-13 on the weekend, and Malcolm Smith, Brody Markol and Curtis Weaver homered. Janet Twyon won the Female MVP for her pitching performance.
Elmore wins gold
Overlooked in Monday’s story about Northfield Mount Hermon School alumna Tessa Gobbo winning gold as part of the United States women’s eight crew was the contribution of rower Amanda Elmore, who has ties to the area and was featured in a Recorder story last week.
Mark K Memorial
Andy Chartier, Al Holmes, Don Parda and Bob Bassett shot a 65 and won by a match of cards to win the Mark K. Memorial Mixed League at Oak Ridge Golf Course in Gill on Monday.
Steve Roy, Dan Malloy, Stan Modrzakowski, Kim Wilde and Bob “Honker” Zaikowski came in second with a 65.
Rotary Outing
Mike Johnson, Princy Stotz, Bob Provost and Audrey LaBonte shot a 38 over 12 holes to win the Rotary Outing at the Country Club of Greenfield on Monday.
Joe Ruggeri, Angie Ruggeri, Jeff Collura and Dee Letourneau tied Mark Williams, Bill Martin, Butch Hawkins and Bryan Roman for second with a 39.
Jim Alexander, Jim Carvahalo, Timbery Grout and Paul Whiting won low net with a 35. Andrew Bresciano, Rian Lovett, Corey Lovett and Rich Peel tied Tim Farrell, Shelby Smith, Dan Smith and Adam Bouchard for second with a 38.

Frontier Regional School has announced times and places for its opening days of practice for fall sports:
• Varsity and JV football — Conditioning and practice, Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
• Middle School football — Aug. 31 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
• Cross country — For boys and girls in grades 7 to12. Aug. 25 at 6 p.m.
• Boys’ varsity and JV soccer — Tryouts for players in grades 7 to 12. Aug. 25 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and again from 4:30-5 p.m. at Herlihy Park in Whately.

All players must have a medical exam within 13 months of the first practice date on record with the school in order to be eligible. Players will become ineligible to participate on the exact day 13 months from their last physical.

Crush finish 3-1
Rachel Dodge hit .700 in four games over the weekend with five RBIs and five runs scored, including a two-run walk-off single in one game, as the Franklin Country Crush 10U softball team went 3-1 at the Darlington Summer Smash in Pawtucket, R.I.
The Crush defeated Coventry Crush (7-6), Darlington (11-10) and Seekonk (10-9) on Saturday but fell to Darlington, 6-1, on Sunday and were eliminated.
Kate Trudeau hit .714 on the weekend and Anna Bucala hit .300 with three RBIs.
Bri Widelo hit .285 and struck out 26 in the circle over the weekend. Kelly Baird hit .285 with three RBIs and also struck out eight in the circle, and Lilly Ross scored four runs and struck out five. Addi Rotkiewicz hit .285 with an RBI and Summer Raimondo scored a pair of runs.
Diamond Devils tryouts
The New England Diamond Devils Softball Organization will hold tryouts Sunday at Franklin Pierce College.
The program offers teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and showcase levels, and is under the direction of two-time national championship coach and Keene High School coach Jim Coppo.
Tryouts are as follows: 10U (2 p.m.), 12U (3 p.m.), 14U, 16U and prospect team (4 p.m.). Registrations begins a half-hour prior to scheduled times.

Deerfield Rec programs
The Deerfield Recreation Department will be sponsoring youth soccer programs for children in grades K through 6 for the fall.
Registration will take place Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Town Hall in South Deerfield, and again on Sept. 2 from 5 to 6 p.m. also at the South Deerfield Town Hall. Cost of the program is $50 and registration forms can be found at www.deerfieldma.us.

Deerfield Pre-K program
The Deerfield Recreation Department is offering a Pre-K Soccer Program on Mondays from 5 to 6 p.m. from Sept. 19 through Oct. 10 at the Old Deerfield baseball fields.
The program will teach the basics of soccer and is being taught by coaches and players from Deerfield Academy. A parent must attend every session with their child. Players will receive one soccer ball and shin guards as part of the registration fee. Players should wear sneakers and bring a water bottle. The program is open to kids ages 3 and 4 who live in Deerfield. Cost is $40 and players must pre-register.
