Jade Tyler struck out nine in seven innings and pitched a one-hit shutout to lead Turners Falls to the Suburban Softball League 14-and-under finals with a 11-0 victory over Mohawk in semifinal action Tuesday night at the Bourdeau Fields Athletic Complex in Turners Falls.

Top-seeded Turners Falls will take on third-seeded Frontier in the championship game tonight at 7 in Turners Falls. Frontier knocked off Northampton, 5-3, in the other semifinal on Tuesday.

Tyler also went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs to help lead a balanced offensive attack. Aly Murphy went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in the win, and Hailey Bogusz went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in. Cassidhe Wozniak went 2-for-3, and Taylor Murphy and Morgan Pendriss each had an RBI.

Isis Moon had the only hit for Mohawk. Lily Lesieur struck out five in the loss, and Shelby Sinistore struck out two in relief.

Frontier 5, Northampton 3 — Hailey Bigwood hit a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning to plate three runs and Frontier came from behind late to punch its ticket to the finals with a 5-3 victory over Northampton Tuesday night at Nonotuck Park in Easthampton.

Northampton took an early 3-0 lead, scoring all its runs in the first two innings, but Frontier got on the board with one run in the fourth, and then took the lead for good with a four-run sixth. Bigwood, who finished with two hits and three RBIs, had the game-changing hit with her bases-clearing double. Mandy Fuller added two hits in the win, and Grace Wesoloski, Gabby Palmisano and Natalie Denkiewicz each added one hit.

Maegan Quinlan pitched the first three innings with three strikeouts to earn the win. Katherine Hoie came on in the sixth and pitched two shutout innings of relief to preserve the lead and earn the win.

SL 12-and-under

West Springfield, 6, Greenfield 5 (8) — Bella Adam’s RBI single in the eighth inning lifted West Springfield to a 6-5 win over Greenfield during the SL 12-and-under semifinals Tuesday night at Mittineague Park in West Springfield.

The game was back-and-forth, as West Springfield took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Greenfield came back with one in the second and three in the third to take a 4-2 lead. West Side tied the game with two in the bottom of the third, and then took a 5-4 lead with a run in the fourth, before Greenfield tied things with a run in the fifth.

Gianna Conte went the distance in the loss, striking out eight. Hannah Marchefka singled and drove in two runs, and Kara O’Connor hit an RBI double. Kaitlin Trudeau drove in a run, and Olivia Stafford singled.
