Greenfield, July 21

11:35 a.m. — Report of malicious destruction of property, at Baystate Franklin Medical Office building on Sanderson Street; officer to investigate, and found a small area spray painted.

12:30 p.m. — Larceny reported on Vernon Street where the caller says that about $2,000 worth of building materials were stolen from his property at some point during the last three months; officer investigating and found that taken from a driveway was a pallet and half of Timberland roof shingles color gray, and valued at the $2,000.

12:49 p.m. — Officer on Chapman Street to serve a warrant; entry gained and the occupant was Mirandized; officer also requests a tow truck; arrested was Hilary Ann Henderson, 31, of Chapman Street, Greenfield, charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute, and possession of a Class B drug.

3:20 p.m. — Walk-in from Allen Street reports an unknown male was on her property; when she asked him to leave, he became hostile and defensive; the reporting person just wanted the incident logged and the walk-in report was filed.

3:35 p.m. — Accident reported at the Interstate 91 rotary, two vehicles involved in a rear-end collision, but no injuries reported, possible neck injury to the operator of the stopped vehicle, but the operator refused medical treatment, and stated she would go to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, on her own for evaluation; minor damage to both vehicles and officer assisted with information exchange; both vehicles left the scene safely.

4:58 p.m. — Accident on Route 2, but caller reports no injuries; a rear-end collision; the following vehicle operator was focused on an interior distraction and failed to noticed the vehicle in front had slowed in traffic; officer assisted with exchange of information; but both vehicle were towed from the scene.

8:21 p.m. — Caller states she heard a loud bang like a gun coming from Old Albany Road; she says there are a bunch of people laughing and possibly shooting guns; officer responded and found that a resident shot a coyote that was attacking his cat; no other shots were fired; no issue.

8:46 p.m. — Suspicious activity with box reported at Newton Street School on Shelburne Road; determined it to be Styrofoam packaging.

9:07 p.m. — Disturbance at the Greenfield Transitional Home on Conway Street where the caller says two juvenile females are physically fighting there; officer responded and found the two females involved in the altercation; staff stated the incident will be handled within; situation discussed.

9:27 p.m. — Larceny reported on Devens Street where the caller says his daughter’s bike was stolen, and is now for sale on Facebook; officer spoke with the reporting person and advised him to send the officer screen shots of the Facebook post.

Orange, July 21

9:35 a.m. — Caller from one of the businesses on Gov. Dukakis Drive would like to see an officer as a hypodermic needle was found in one of the bathrooms (name of business blackened out on log) there the other day, and they would like it removed; that was done by an officer.

3:30 p.m. — Control advised a reporting person on Columbia Avenue states there is a male going door to door soliciting for an electric company and they would like an officer to check it out; the officer located the individual and found he didn’t have a permit for soliciting; he will go to the town hall to inquire about a permit.

3:45 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on East River Street from where Control got a report of an individual going door to door for another electric company, officer located the individual and found he works for the same company as the previous item; he said there is a group of people from his company all around town; he was advised to stop until he get a permit with the town hall.

5:30 p.m. — Control got a call from Pleasant Street with the same complaint of a door to door solicitation for an electric company; found to be the same as the previous two calls; this individual said he will contact all of the other employees that are working in Orange and have them stop until they obtain a permit.

5:45 p.m. — Control advises there is an open door reported on West Orange Road, to a closed business; officer checked the interior, and found no sign of forced entry, the door was re-secured.

7:05 p.m. — Control took a 911 call from a person on West Main Street who was yelling and swearing, saying she was being harassed by another person; officer investigating.

8:50 p.m. — Control took a complaint about fireworks being set off in the Chase Street area; the area was checked and all was quiet.

Greenfield, July 22

1:25 a.m. — Alarm sounding from Foster’s Supermarket; a general motion alarm; key holder responded in 15 minutes, and found it likely caused by a bird in the building, and a loose back door.

10:39 a.m. — A bicycle was reported stolen at 47 Oak Center. Caller described the bike as being a Next brand green and silver youth mountain bike and believes it was stolen overnight.

11:28 a.m. — A caller reported a hit-and-run at Big Y Foods after a black 2012 Dodge Ram struck his/her blue 2008 Honda Accord and left the scene. The caller was able to provide police with the truck’s Massachusetts license plate number.

Greenfield, July 23

12:30 a.m. — Police received multiple reports of hearing gun shots or fireworks in the area of Main Street and Miles Street. Some believed they heard two separate sets of fireworks, though police were unable to locate the source.
