Think before filming

I saw a video posted from someone’s phone. I want to speak to that limited film.

What kind of fool is standing filming within a very short distance (looked to be about 50 feet) from a police car with the officer taking cover behind the rear while he shoots? Are they looking to be the next Woodward and Bernstein? This breaking news mentality is going to get innocent people hurt or killed.

The film also showed the police car at an angle across the oncoming land of traffic. Didn’t someone in that oncoming lane pull around him while he was in a shooting position and go around him?

I think all major forms of media need to do some educating on police and other emergency vehicles with their emergency lights on and what then is required by law.

As a former EMT, I can tell many stories of drivers causing near harm to us. Ask any retired police officer, fireman, or EMT about their experiences with the driving public.

I did have a pedestrian want me to stop on Main Street in Greenfield as he stepped into the crosswalk when I was driving an ambulance with all the emergency lights enroute to FMC with a patient.

Some of this may be due to ignorance but IMHO, it is just a public self-absorbed with only itself.
