Hello neighbor.
Well, we just came off another successful Green River Festival, despite the rain. Happy 30th to the annual music and hot-air balloon event.
But, if you’re looking for more music enjoyment, there’s plenty here in the county. I’ve listed a few events below. What a great area we live in.
Have a wonderful weekend, folks!
SHELBURNE FALLS EAGLES at 52 State St. on the Buckland side will host the Old School Band tonight from 8 to 11 p.m. It’s a tribute to the music of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, so there’s going to be a little something for everyone. The cover is $5.
ERVING SENIOR AND COMMUNITY CENTER will hold a summer potluck dinner tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at the center at 1 Care Drive (Route 63) in Erving. Enjoy a variety of summer recipes at the second Friends Potluck Dinner. Bring your favorite dish. Cake decorator Mackensey Bailey will demonstrate a variety of decorating techniques using fondant. For more information or to sign up, call 413-423-3348.
MOHAWK TRAIL CONCERTS has two concerts left — Andrew Garland (baritone) and Estela Olevsky (piano) will perform on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Federated Church of Charlemont, 175 Main St. (Route 2) in Charlemont. On Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23, both at 7:30 p.m., the last of this year’s concert series will be Jaime Laredo on violin and Sharon Robinson on cello. Tickets are $23; age 16 and younger are free. Tickets are available online at: www.mohawktrailconcerts.org You can also get your tickets at the door, but you’ll have to pay with cash or check. Enjoy!
THE 1794 MEETINGHOUSE IN NEW SALEM will host Gathering Time — folk/rock harmonies on Sunday, July 17, at 4 p.m. On Thursday, July 21, the Patrick Coman Bank, a country and folk/rock band, will perform at 7:30 p.m.; and next weekend, on Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24, Mist Covered Mountains, a celtic trio, and Ethan Bremner, who will perform opera selections from “Carmen” (one of my favorites, by the way), will be there. Mist Covered Mountains will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and Ethan will peform at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

THE COOP CONCERTS in the Energy Park at the end of Miles Street in Greenfield will welcome Austin and Elliott (striking harmonies), Orlen and Gabriel (folk, blues and ragtime) and Katie Clarke (folk and bluegrass) on Thursday, July 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Concerts are at the same time every Thursday night this summer, and they’re free. All you have to do is bring a blanket or chair, some food and drinks, and enjoy the music.
THE GREENFIELD MILITARY BAND plays every Tuesday in July in the Energy Park, as well. The concerts start at 7 p.m., and they are free. Most concerts last about an hour.
