Easthampton Savings Bank scored four times in the sixth inning to snap a 1-1 tie and went on to defeat Manny’s TV & Appliance Center, 5-2, in a Tri-County League amateur baseball game Friday night at Veterans Memorial Field in Greenfield.

All four of the go-ahead runs came with two outs, as Aris Laranceunt hit a two-run single, and the Bankers got another two-run single afterwards.

That spoiled a solid outing by Manny’s pitcher Jimmy Mills, who finished with six strikeouts in seven innings, with six hits allowed and just one intentional walk.

Manny’s took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third when Eric Libardoni doubled and scored on a Kyle Platner (two hits) RBI single. ESB the game in the game in the fourth on Drew Dombrowski’s RBI single.

Manny’s (6-8) threatened to get back in the game in the sixth, as Brian Hayes and Mike Putala each led off with singles and moved to third on a wild pitch. Manny’s could only manage one run on a T.J. Meyer groundout.

Junior Legion

Longmeadow 5, Greenfield 4 — Will Echeverria pitched a three-hitter and Longmeadow defeated Greenfield Post 81, 5-4, in an Junior American Legion Baseball game Friday night at Longmeadow High School.

It marked the second time this season that Echeverria has stymied the powerful Greenfield offense, as he lost a 2-1 decision to Post 81 earlier in the year. 

Adam Hallenbeck struck out four in six innings in the loss. Owen Phelps and Tyler Townsley each had one hit and one RBI in the loss, and Owen MacPhee had a hit.

Post 81 finished the regular season 15-3 overall, 14-2 in district play. Greenfield earned the second seed and will play at home Monday night at 7 against No. 7 Belchertown.

Sandy Koufax

Frontier 6, Wilbraham 2 — Ito McMillan singled, doubled and scored a run on Friday night as Greg’s Auto Body/Polish American Citizens Club defeated Wilbraham, 6-2, in a Sandy Koufax League baseball game at Herlihy Park in Whately.

Ryan Antes singled and drove in a run, and Brett Robinson, Matthew Gardner and Garrett DeForest each singled once and scored once.

DeForest went the distance, striking out five and walking only one in seven innings to earn the win.

Frontier plays a doubleheader at Headmaster’s Field at Deerfield Academy today at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to wrap up the regular season.
