Brian Ginnity clouted two home runs and drove in three to lead Hubie’ s Tavern & Restaurant past Hot-L Warren, 14-6, in Greenfield Co-Rec Softball League play Wednesday night at Unity Park in Turners Falls.

Derek Helie was 4-for-4 with two RBIs, Chris Arsenault added a single and two doubles, and Kelly Smith chipped in with two hits for Hubie’s.

Zach Younger had three hits and Rachele Mathey added two hits for Hot-L.

• Also at Unity Park, Jake Coburn went 5-for-5 and Rissa Smith and Alyssa Sheperd both had 4-for-5 nights to power Brad’s Place to a six-inning, 32-10 win over Riff’s North.

Tim Belanger was 3-for-4 with two homers and Morgan Orrell added three hits for Riff’s.

• At Hillside Park, Justin Nash and Dustin Olson both went 5-for-5 to lead Turners Falls Pizza House to a five-inning, 26-10 win over Mesa Verde

Zeb Crossman and Mariah Crossman both went 6-for-6 and Maura added three hits for the Eagles.

Greenfield Elks League

Mike Larabee and Tom Rogers are tied with Ed Reagey and Jim Jason with 7½ points after one week of the second half of the Greenfield Elks Golf League at the Country Club of Greenfield.

Alan Ball and John Mackin are third with 7 points after Wednesday’s play.

Gary Noga was closest to the pin on No. 5 (1 feet, 9 inch).

Timmons Memorial

Gary Herzig and Trevor Blake combined to post a low-gross 35 in the Timmons Memorial Golf League Wednesday at Northfield Golf Course.

Jeff Kenney and Harry Hyams took low net with a 26.

Kenney was closest to the pin on No. 6 (10-2). Brian Cocco was closest on No. 7 (7-0).

Kenney and Rodney Ebbighausen tied for medalist honors at 36.

CFC Women’s

Mace Foehl-Hemphill carded an A Division-best 43 for low gross in the Crumpin-Fox Women’s Golf League on Wednesday in Bernardston.

Diane Carme finished second with a 50.

Jill Zachery had a 40 for ow net, and Marty Stinson was second with a 43.

• In the B Division, Deb Putnam’s 52 was good for low gross, with Jill Waldron right behind her at 53.

Robin Earle carded a 37 for low net, and Jodi Hoynoski was second, also at 37.

The Edge Hill Ladies Golf League held its Bingo, Bango, Bongo Tournament Wednesday in Ashfield.

June Heideman and Gail Johnson tied with 11 points while June Heideman was closest to the line on No. 18 (6-2).

Alan Savinski registered a plus-10 for top weekly point quota in the Knights of Columbus Golf League Wednesday at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.

Dan Hohhengasser finished second at plus-7.

Closest-to-the-pin honors went to John O’Riley on No. 7 (1-1) and Steve Brown on No. 9 (12-7).

Nancy Browning posted the best point quota at plus-8 during the Wednesday Ladies Golf League at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.

April Melanson was second at plus-5, while Kate Dwyer, Chante Jillson and Jeanette Lawrence all tied for third at plus-4.

Dorothy Adams carded a 46 for low gross.

DRIVE Boys’ League

Tucker Llewelyn scored a game-high 20 points to lead Whitney Fence to a 49-37 win over Frontier in a DRIVE Hoops Boys’ Varsity League game Tuesday night at Messer Gymnasium in Northfield.

Tyler Martin added 16 points for Whitney.

Myles Freeman hit for 9 and Kalen Evans had 8 for Frontier.

• Elsewhere, Nick Croteau drained a game-high 25 and Ricky Craver added 15 to lead Turners Falls over Lundgren Honda, 73-53.

• Finally, Brattleboro, Vt., downed Warriors, 65-27, behind Ian Fulton-Black’s 27 points.

DRIVE Summer Camp

The DRIVE Hoops Summer Basketball Clinic will take place from July 18 through July 22 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Greenfield High School.

The clinic is open for boys and girls ages 7 through 14 and will be run by GHS girls’ coach John Hickey and Hopkins Academy boys’ coach Angelo Thomas, as well player-coaches from GHS.

Orange Rec clinic

The Orange Recreation Association Basketball Clinic is taking registrations for boys and girls entering grades 4 through 9 this fall.

There are two sessions being offered, the first from Monday through July 15, and the second from July 18 through 22, each running from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Only 40 players will be allotted per session. The fee includes breakfast, lunch, T-shirt and five days of basketball skills, drills, scrimmages and fun.

Directed by Helene Holmes, the program is held at the Fisher Hill School in Orange, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. each weekday.

Road racing

Montague Mug Race

The 36th annual Montague Mug Race will be held on Aug. 20 in Montague Center.

The 5.5-mile race begins at 8:30 a.m. from the Village Common. Pewter Mugs are awarded to top male and female finishers, and coffee mugs are given to the to top finishers of each division. T-shirts will be available for the first 90 runners.

Now in its 12th year, the 2-mile Mini Mug Race will kick off at 8:35 a.m.

Both races will finish at the ball field. All runners are entered into drawing for local prizes.

Elms track benefit

A 3.5-mile road race will be held July 30 in Northfield to benefit the new track and field team at Elms College in Chicopee.

The race will start at Northfield Town Hall at 10 a.m., with registration beginning at 9:15 a.m. Registration fee is $7 per person, and children under 12 years old can run for free.

The low-key race is open to participants of all ability levels who may choose to run or walk the course. Prizes will awarded to the top three male and female finishers.

Funds raised will help raise money to buy uniforms, equipment and other necessities for the new track and field team, which will compete in its inaugural season in the spring of 2017.

In case of severe weather (such as a thunderstorm), the race will be moved to July 31.

The Pioneer Valley Pole Vault School in Bernardston is open by appointment for individual and group lessons through the fall with negotiable rates.

Lessons will be taught by Pioneer Valley Regional School track and Northfield Mount Hermon pole-vault coach Jim Bell, himself a Masters pole vaulter.
