Ben Clough was a lost fly ball away from pitching a no-hitter but instead had to settle for a one-hit shutout as he led Dream Bats to a 10-0 win over Teddy Bear Pools in a five-inning Tri-County League game Thursday evening at Somers (Conn.) High School.

Tom Malooly had the only hit in the loss when he hit a fly ball into the outfield that was lost in the sky and dropped in for a double. Clough finished with nine strikeouts and three walks in the win.

Dan White suffered the loss, striking out two and walking one.

Dream Bats scored three times in each of the first two innings and added two more runs in the third before invoking the mercy rule in the fifth with two final runs.

Mike Casciano tripled and drove in two runs to lead the Dream Bats offense.
