10:10 a.m. — Unwanted person reported at South Main Street location from where Shelburne Control got a report that a male is upset and has thrown an ash tray; on arrival both people were spoken with, and it was found to be a verbal dispute over rent money the female wants; the male left for a while.
10:50 a.m. — Neighborhood disturbance reported on East River Street where Control says an officer is requested for a verbal dispute with a neighbor; on officer’s arrival he spoke with the complaining person who stated his neighbor threatened him; he was advised of all appropriate options; officer also spoke with the female and advised her that if the behavior continues she could face criminal charges.
12:13 p.m. — Larceny reported on Oxbow Road with the caller reporting his girlfriend is stealing a washer and dryer at this time; he is currently out of state; on officer’s arrival the items had already been placed in a vehicle and money exchanged; the female was spoken with, and she claimed it was hers to sell; she called the reporting person and there was still a disagreement; it was determined this was a civil problem, and the reporting person could file his own action in court; the female decided to put the items back in the residence, and the reporting person was advised.
4 p.m. — Shoplifting reported on North Main Street where the caller says he believes a female had stolen a bag full of items from the store, various items; she dropped the bag and left the store when approached; officers found the woman on Mechanic Street, and the suspected shoplifter and another person were escorted back to the store, and it was determined that she didn’t steal any items, however that her behavior was odd.
7:13 p.m. — Caller from New Athol Road would like extra patrol in the area as someone keeps ringing her doorbell at 4 a.m.; she was advised to call when it is occurring.
7:44 p.m. — Caller from Daniel Shays Highway told Control that a large bear is in the area and headed off into the woods toward Route 2. No police service needed.
7:50 p.m. — Control received a report of a bear in the backyard of a building on Eagleville Road, but it wasn’t damaging anything; officer spoke with the reporting person who said the bear crossed over the Route 2 on ramp, to the woods on the other side; Control also took another call about this.
2:56 p.m. — A 911 caller reports two females that live in the neighboring apartments on Union Street, have been screaming and yelling at each other for several minutes; officer spoke to an aunt who said Clinical and Support Options is working on getting a Section 12 for one of those females; found to be a verbal mental health argument; one female was trying to eat a pizza, and her sister was looking at her wrong; we calmed her down prior to leaving.
5:43 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Adam and Eve Store on Main Street where the caller says two males are possibly doing a drug deal behind the store at this location; officers sent, and found two people smoking, and they were moved along and were not aware of the camera.
7:47 p.m. — Despondent person on Conway Street where the caller states his girlfriend is making suicide statements and is on foot in this area; Section 12 received while officers were out with the female, and one of the officers is transporting the female to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, under Clinical and Support Options Section 12.
9:10 p.m. — Unknown problem where a female was upset that her husband is at her mother’s visiting; she was advised that he chooses to stay and visit his son, and watch basketball; she left, grudgingly; while there she called him stating that if he comes home, she will call the police and say he hit her.
10:58 p.m. — Disturbance at Oak Courts where the intoxicated female has caused damage to the male’s vehicle, the reporting person says she was causing damage to his vehicle, adding that she used a knife to puncture a hole into his tire, and he has to work in the morning. the female is being summoned to court for malicious destruction of property over $250 value, and assault on a family/household member.
7:30 a.m. — Reporting person requesting an officer to speak with her regarding that someone was setting off fireworks in front of her house last night about 10:30 p.m., and the reporting person is concerned that someone set them off there because of her sexual orientation, and was concerned for a link between this incident and the recent Orlando shooting. The officer spoke with the reporting person, and noted the fireworks were set off across the street, next to the sidewalk, and it doesn’t appear that the fireworks was set off as an act against the reporting person; the reporting person didn’t see anyone around the fireworks last night, and advised she saw a neighbor on his porch, but doesn’t believe he was involved.
11:57 a.m. — Received multiple reports of a fawn that was struck by a motor vehicle, but got conflicting reports as to whether the animal was still alive, or not; officer on scene, and advised a (named person) stopped to move the deer out of the road, but wasn’t involved in the accident; officer reports the deer is now dead, and it was removed from the road, and put into the woods.
2:41 p.m. — Caller from the area of Rod Shop Road reports the Rod Shop building has had some vandalism, in that there is vulgar graffiti on the building next to the old Rod Shop; officer observing there are several areas with graffiti, much of which may have been there for a while; unknown what graffiti, if any, is new; the owner of the affected building still hasn’t called to report the vandalism.
5:52 p.m. — Larceny reported on G Street where the caller says she had a male friend stay over last night, and discovered today that $340 is missing from her apartment; she met the male on a website and only knows him as “Bruce.” Officer spoke with the reporting person.
7:58 p.m. — Report of a tree down blocking one lane, but the reporting person didn’t see any wires were involved; officer was able to move the tree out of the road and advised it is by the jersey barriers there, and requests that the DPW cut back the tree during business hours; it isn’t a hazard.
9:57 p.m. — Erving Police requests an officer on mutual aid to the Warner Street location there where the Erving officer is en route to removing an unwanted intoxicated male; our officers were advised and then on scene, and the Erving and Montague Police cleared after discussion and the parties separated; peace was restored.
2:15 p.m. — A walk-in reports harassment on Mechanic Street where a tenant hired a contractor to do some work, and some of the reporting person’s tools were stolen; the tools have been recovered and the contractor isn’t welcome back to finish the work; money has been paid, but now calls are being made by the contractor and an employee requesting money; officer gave information on how to apply for a harassment prevention order in court; the contractor was contacted and advised to cease; he said he has and told his employee to do the same. A report was forwarded to the Building Department and a wiring inspector was requested to the scene to check a possible electrical hazard; the homeowner was provided with advice by the inspector.
11:30 p.m. — Neighborhood disturbance reported on Royalston Road for a loud party in the area of Tully Road; officers located the party and spoke with the homeowner and they were advised to stop the party and to keep it quiet for the remainder of the evening.
8:14 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported on Vernon Street; officer to investigate, and found that the vehicles were unlocked and entered; the person has been victim of same type of incident a few years ago; some change was taken from one vehicle.
9:23 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, reported on Norwood Street; officer spoke with the reporting person who said three listed vehicles were unlocked and entered during the night; between approximately 10:30 p.m., and 9 a.m.; change was the only item reportedly stolen, report taken.
10:33 a.m. — Caller from the Mohawk Trail looking for information on what she can do about a woman sleeping in the parking lot at this location, she is homeless and sleeping in her vehicle, (New Hampshire plates) there are no trespass orders on her at this time; services rendered.
3:05 p.m. — Request for mutual aid boat at the Stillwater Bridge to aid Deerfield departments.
3:17 p.m. — Suspicious activity at Valley Tees on Federal Street where an employee reporting inappropriate email regarding a member of the Town Council, the emails were forwarded to a detective investigating an on-going issue with a Town Council member.
3:34 p.m. — Accident reported on Deerfield Street near the Meadows Café and Golf Center, two vehicles involved in a rear-end collision; first vehicle was turning right into the parking area at the Meadows, when the second vehicle misjudged the amount of space needed to safely pass on the left, combined with excessive speed, and collided with the rear driver’s side corner of the first vehicle, no injuries and no fluids, and both vehicle were able to be driven away, information was exchanged; warning citation issued to the operator of the second vehicle.
4:11 p.m. — Unwanted people reported at Ruggeri’s Beverage and Redemption Center on Deerfield Street where the clerk states there are five or six people hanging around out back harassing customers for money; they were gone on arrival of police.
4:15 p.m. — Accident at the Mohawk Trail and Miner Street where a vehicle followed a truck out of Miner Street, into traffic, and the second vehicle T-boned it; no injuries reported, and both vehicles were able to be driven away.
5:02 p.m. — Accident on the Exit 26 ramp off Interstate 91; a rear-end collision, but no injuries reported, both drove away safely; the following vehicle failed to wait long enough for the first vehicle to enter the rotary; warning citation issued.
6:04 p.m. — Accident at Hope and Cheapside streets, with no injuries, though both vehicles had to be towed; report issued.
6:24 p.m. — Despondent person reported at Poet’s Seat Tower where the caller says a male is sitting on the outside of the railing at the base of the tower; officers responded, and a complaint was issued; the male was moved along.
10:02 p.m. — Officer flagged down by some kids at Oak Courts where the children were reporting a possible abduction; they said a white van pulled up, a male got out, grabbed a little girl, put her in the back of the van, and drove away; after speaking with the kids in the area no actual witnesses came forward; spoke with the tenant at one of the units who stated that three kids were picked up by their parents, and a girl was also picked up by her father in a silver-colored van at the approximate time of the reported incident; no one was reported missing in the area.
11:01 p.m. — Disturbance on Lincoln Street where the reporting person states he needs officer to respond to the residence as there are people drinking and there was a verbal altercation going on that may possibly be turning into a physical altercation; found to be mom in an argument with a 17-year-old son who was caught drinking, and uncle, who is also intoxicated, entered the argument, and it escalated the incident; found to be verbal only and the situation was calmed down.
11:38 p.m. — Caller from Wildwood Avenue reports that she is feeling suicidal and wants help; the reporting person states that she does have a Gerber knife at this time, but is putting it away now; police and Medcare advised; found the female experiencing medication complications causing her to be depressed; she was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare.
9:22 a.m. — Vandalism report at the Montague Bookmill on Greenfield Road where, the caller reports, he was parked near the Bookmill, and left for a bike ride; he came back about 15-minutes later, and found one of his vehicle windows smashed; officer to investigate.
4:06 a.m. — Burglar alarm sounding at Newton Street School; and the reporting person called back to update us with a key holder information who will be here with a five-minute ETA; officers checked the interior and exterior of the school with the key holder, and all was secured and clear.
5:11 a.m. — Officer on patrol on Plain Road found a tree branch in the roadway, and the officer was able to remove it.
7:05 a.m. — Accident reported at French King Highway and Canada Hill, two vehicles involved, no injuries, information was exchanged. and officer investigated.
7:53 a.m. — Accident at the Interstate 91 rotary; minor damage, owners exchanged information.
9:36 a.m. — Caller from Homestead Avenue would like to speak with an officer regarding a Craig’s List check scam; officer will make contact.
9:51 a.m. — Report of a possible fight on Cleveland Street between numerous kids; upon arrival of officers, the group was dispersed.
11:32 a.m. — Accident on Leyden Road, one vehicle involved and had to be towed, no injuries reported, officer investigating.
11:54 a.m. — Report of malicious destruction of property, to a vehicle at Elm Terrace, officer to investigate.
12:58 p.m.— Hate crime reported on School Street where the caller is getting the same emails that most of the town is getting; the reporting person was called back and all information is to be forwarded to the detective bureau.
1:04 p.m. — Caller from Oakland Street reports her address is being used for a Craig’s List rental scam; officer spoke with the reporting person who said she has had past issues with her address being posted on Craig’s List as a home for sale, which it isn’t; she indicated she recently became aware it has been posted again and had prospective buyers show up at her home; the reporting person did recently purchase the home so it had recently been on the market. She was advised to contact and report this to Craig’s List.
1:15 p.m. — Accident reported on Main Street near Green Fields Market, three vehicles involved, but no injuries reported; officer investigating.
4:11 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported at former Wedgewood Gardens on Colrain Street where the caller says there are people riding an ATV and a dirt bike in the area, and operating erratically; officer sent, and both adults were advised to ensure their kids aren’t riding on the roadway or interfering with pedestrians that come to the park.
9:01 p.m. — Disturbance on Water Street where a 911 caller states a female showed up and tried to start a fight with her and her boyfriend over some property that has gone missing; officers sent, and the female came and yelled at the tenants of the residence, because she wanted her TV back; the TV had previously been stolen, so they couldn’t return it; there was no physical altercation; only verbal; she left the scene in an unknown vehicle, and officers advised the residents to call if the female returns.
