Things I have learned about facts and truth in reading The Recorder and its letters to the editor:
2.7 miles of the Connecticut riverbed in Turners Falls runs almost dry due to the Northfield pumped storage project. I always thought the dam was built to provide water for the power canal. I guess prior to 1972 when the pumped storage started operating, the river ran full.
The argument that the Kinder-Morgan pipeline and Tennessee Gas was for export and putting us through this rig-ma-role to make obscene profits. Now that the project has been put on hold due to lack of domestic demand, I assume Berkshire Gas will lift its moratorium on new hook ups and possible business expansion, although I haven’t read that a new source of supply has been found.
I guess the First Amendment guarantee of free speech does not include truthfulness when it comes to political opinion.
