4:04 p.m. — Officer wanted on East River Street where the caller states she found pills on her deck, she described them to the officer and they were disposed of.
6:40 p.m. — Report of a disabled motor vehicle with a female standing outside of it with a dead cell phone; officer sent and provided transport of that female to Park Street in Athol.
10:35 p.m. — Caller reports kids in the neighborhood, slamming car doors; officer responded and all was quiet in the neighborhood.
1:01 a.m. — Officer reports a disturbance at or near the Main Street Bar and Grill; officers responded, and peace was restored.
9:31 a.m. — Report of a civilian erecting a sign on Mountain Road; officer drove the area a few times and was unable to locate any sign.
9:30 a.m. — Larceny reported by a man who came to the station to say his estranged wife took a large sum of money from an account she isn’t supposed to have access to; upon speaking with the man it was found the larceny occurred in Athol at a bank there, and he was directed to the Athol Police to have them investigate the issue there.
12:39 p.m. — Shelburne Control got a call from a person on East Main Street who states a vehicle pulled into the Wal-mart parking lot, and the caller advised they saw a young child unrestrained in the back seat; officer located the vehicle, and the operator and passengers of the vehicle as they were leaving the store; they were advised to make arrangements to have someone bring them the appropriate child seat, and given a verbal warning for the violation.
1:30 p.m. — Control advised the reporting person would like to speak with an officer about an item that was taken from his residence by his ex-girlfriend while he wasn’t home; attempts were made to speak with the ex-girlfriend, and the officer will follow up tomorrow.
1:34 p.m. — Reporting person called to report he accidentally backed into a mailbox at Prentiss Street and Burrill Avenue; he left a note with all his information in the box; it didn’t damage the box, but pushed it over; there is damage to the left side of his car; he wanted it on record in case the home owner called.
5:29 p.m. — Control got a message there is a group of eight kids that are yelling and threatening the caller’s daughter at the park on East River Street; officer located the group, identified them, then spoke with all those involved, and made contact with the parents of these individuals causing the problem.
9:56 p.m. — Caller reports a disturbance at a West Main Street location where a person was allegedly hit in the face with a stun gun; officer investigated and a report is filed.
11:30 p.m. — Loud noise disturbance on Fairman Road where the caller reports what sounds like a woman screaming coming from across the street in the cornfield; all was quiet on officer’s arrival and they determined it to be a fisher cat.
1:42 a.m. — Accident with injury reported on New Athol Road at East Main Street, and found to be a single vehicle accident; the Orange Fire Department Ambulance and officer located the vehicle on its roof with the operator partially ejected; the male was transported to Athol Memorial Hospital, and the incident was under investigation. The operator will be summoned to court for operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation.
9:05 a.m. — Control got a report of a broken window on the ground level at a West River Street location; the window is still covered by a wire cover; message was left for the building inspector.
11:06 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop on East River Street for failure to turn on head lights while the windshield wipers are in use; the operator was given a verbal warning.
4:55 p.m. — Officers on Hayden Street to serve a warrant; arrested was Clifford Bartlett, 60, of Hayden Street, Orange, on a violation of probation warrant.
6:50 p.m. — Reporting person came to the station to say that someone opened a National Grid account in his name; in speaking with the reporting person it was found this happened in Northampton and the reporting person was referred to the Northampton Police.
11:10 p.m. — Neighborhood disturbance reported on East Main Street where the reporting person says a woman is screaming at people across the street from her residence; officer sent and instructed her to go back inside her residence or she would be placed under arrest for disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct; she eventually went back inside.
10:09 a.m. — Accident with possible injuries reported on Elm Street; officers and fire department sent, but no injuries reported at the scene; call from an involved person advising of a coolant spill and that minor child in the vehicle smashed her face and needs to be checked, and connected with Medcare; two vehicles involved, no other injuries reported; report taken.
2:22 p.m. — Parking problem, vehicles parked on the new lawns at Greenfield High School (Sunday) and numerous parking tickets were issued at direction of an officer, for violation for parking on grass and common area (curbed) at this location; citations issued. (There was a similar problem reported on Saturday during the musical production with vehicles in no parking zones and inside of Shattuck Park and over the entire basketball court. The Saturday report also involved parking for the musical production.)
6:51 p.m. — Disturbance reported at the Armory Street apartment building where the reporting person states he heard a man’s deep voice and a woman shouting, and the reporting person states there is a small child crying and sounds “terrified,” but the reporting person isn’t sure which apartment it is coming from, the reporting person then called back to report her son went into the hallway and noticed that it was just a bunch of teenagers horsing around, playing in the hallway; officers found it not as reported, but found several children playing on the third floor being loud; they were advised to lower the noise.
4:09 p.m. — Caller requested to speak with an officer about money being stolen from her at Valley Medical Group on Conway Street.
3:40 p.m. — Disorderly conduct, reported at the F.L. Roberts gas station and convenience store where the caller says a male is outside asking people for money, and the caller believes he is intoxicated; he is male, in his 50s, with green jacket and has facial hair; the reporting person said she is leaving the area, and believes the male just walked into the store; officer sent but the store clerk had spoken to the male prior to officer’s arrival; the man was sent on his way.
5:42 p.m. — Caller on a one-way line advises he just witnessed what he believes was two people “shooting up,” and said it was a male and female, inside a purple minivan, possibly a Dodge Caravan, with primer on the fenders, and they were putting something around their arms; while advising the officer, the reporting person called back to say the van is now gone; he had driven by again to attempt to see a plate, and the vehicle had since left; officer advised.
8:15 p.m. — Threatening and harassment reported on Avenue A in the Crocker Building where the reporting person spoke of a disturbing text message she got from an unknown person, which stated, “Go f – – k yourself, you loser,” and the reporting person was very distraught about receiving such a message; she was advised this would be on record, and to call back if she received any more, and to look into blocking the number if necessary.
8:46 p.m. — Control got a call regarding a tree down, blocking one lane of travel near the town line in Montague on North Leverett Road; no wires involved, and the reporting person stated it looked freshly cut; officer sent and the hazard had been removed.
5:20 a.m. — Female caller on East Main Street requested a voluntary transport to the hospital for alcohol and psychological related issues; the Orange Fire Department Ambulance provided her with a courtesy transport to Athol Memorial Hospital.
11:10 a.m. — Control advised they received a call of a motor vehicle off the road, and into the bushes on Main Street; the operator was found and wasn’t injured; he was in the process of having the vehicle removed by AAA; officer investigated and filed a report.
12:16 p.m. — Control advised of a call reporting a woman’s car was hit sometime while she was parked in the Wal-mart parking lot; video footage was viewed, and it was found the accident didn’t happen there at Wal-mart; owner was advised the incident would be on record.
2:05 p.m. — Caller into the station reports there is a tree down across the road in the area of South Athol and Partridgeville roads; Athol Police were contacted and advised.
3:42 p.m. — Control reports a tree down across one lane of traffic on Wheeler Avenue; officer responded, and the tree was moved to one side of the road, with assistance of a passerby.
11:10 p.m. — Report of a motor vehicle crash on East Main Street, but no injuries reported; the caller advised that an unknown female backed her vehicle into a parked vehicle that was located at the gas pump; the caller advised that a male and female are now arguing about the crash, and the female is attempting to leave the scene; officers arrived and an accident report was taken, and the female was taken into custody; arrested was Victoria Ann O’Connor, 47, of Crescent Street, Athol, charged with operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense), failure to use care in starting, stopping, turning or backing, and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
12:21 a.m. — Unwanted person reported at the Main Street Bar and Grill, where the reporting person is a bartender, who states that a male patron is refusing to leave, and threatening him; he states the male is now outside standing at the door, but believes he will come back in; officers responded and found the known subject who was intoxicated and shut off at the bar; but he became verbally feisty with the bartender and left on his own free will; he was advised not to return.
12:32 a.m. — Unwanted person reported at CVS where the caller reports a male with a lot of bags, and who appears to be homeless, was sitting in front of the store for a few hours, and just went into the store, making several trips with all of his bags, and is now sitting in chairs in the back of the store at the Minute Clinic; officers sent and found the male is homeless and was waiting for the bus station to open; he was looking to stay warm until 7 a.m., to catch a bus; he was advised of places he could go until 7 a.m., and was moved along.
5:43 a.m. — Hazardous conditions when an officer advised the roads are getting slippery and the on-call supervisor was notified; he will contact the sand crew to come in, and the DPW then called back to say the on-call sanding operator has been out doing the hills and the known slippery spots and the entire crew will be going out when they get in at 7 a.m.
6:59 a.m. — Accident by Davenport’s trucking area on Colrain Street; one vehicle involved that ran into a pole; found no damage to the pole, the vehicle was pulled out, the battery died, and the vehicle was moved off the roadway; Eversource was notified.
7:06 a.m. — Caller from area of Deerfield and Meridian streets; three vehicles involved, one vehicle towed; no injuries reported, two citations issued.
8:07 a.m. — Traffic stop on the Mohawk Trail near the Irving Station; investigation leads to arrest of Allison A. Courtney, 29, of Hastings Street, Greenfield, charged with operating with suspended license.
9:19 a.m. — Hit and run reported on Davis Street where the caller says that a white Lincoln hit mail boxes at two residences; report issued.
10:01 a.m. — Caller from Davis Street reports his tools were stolen by a former tenant; officer investigating.
12:22 p.m. — Accident at Nash’s Mill Road, two vehicles involved, road was icy, and vehicle one slid into the back of vehicle two which was stopped for the red light (at the bridge) major damage to both with airbag deployment on the fist vehicle, both were towed from the scene, no injuries reported, other then the operator of the second vehicle claimed to be slightly nauseous.
12:57 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at School Street location and reported as a possible domestic issue; investigation leads to arrest of Maria Washington, 39, of Wells Street, Greenfield, on a court warrant.
1:32 p.m. — Report of an accident on the Mohawk Trail at Newton Street; a rear-end accident; first vehicle was westbound behind vehicle two that had stopped to turn left; minor damage; vehicle one attempted to stop and was sliding on snow covered, slick roadway; officer assisted with exchange of information, and vehicle one operator was cited for failure to use care in stopping.
2:05 p.m. — Accident on the downhill, or south side of Mountain Road, but no injuries reported; the vehicle was stuck in a snow bank, and AAA pulled it out.
3:36 p.m. — Accident on Crescent Street; two vehicle involved; crash report filed.
4:28 p.m. — Welfare check requested on Conway Street, as Department of Children and Families called about two young girls; their mother picked them up from the father in Vermont, and brought them to the address at this location; the father is concerned about their welfare, and told DCF that he believes the location has people living there that do heavy amounts of alcohol and drugs; officers sent and found the house clean, with three girls living there, and no proof of allegations made; all was well; kids were clean and well dressed, house was orderly, and no alcohol or drugs observed.
6:44 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported south of Phillips Street and Western Avenue; where an anonymous caller says she saw a couple of people pushing shopping carts full of clothes, bags and an air mattress into the woods on Western Avenue, and says that there is a lot of kids around that area, and she is concerned the people are going into the woods to do drugs; officers didn’t find any such people at this time.
7:17 p.m. — Report of a hit and run accident in the Big Y Foods parking lot, two vehicles involved; both were then located, and situation investigated.
7:45 p.m. — Officer assisting a person on Bernardston Road where the reporting person states she has called the oil company, and 411, and everybody she could, but no one would help her with the heating problem in her house; she said she was freezing, and was sitting in front of the pellet store and couldn’t get warm; officer sent, the heat was fixed and all was well.
9:54 p.m. — Despondent person reported on Chapman Street where the caller on 911 states his ex-girlfriend is intoxicated, and just ruined their TV by dragging a steak knife across the screen; the caller said she is making vague threats towards him as well; officer there and requesting Medcare; the female was taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare; found both people were intoxicated, but no physical violence, and threats were non-physical; she was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
