Town announces date for caucus

MONTAGUE — The Democratic Town Caucus will take place on March 31 to select candidates for town offices.

It will run from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on the second floor meeting room of the Town Offices at 1 Avenue A, Turners Falls.

Successful candidates will receive the party nomination and appear on the May 16 town election ballot.

Democrats who wish to run in the caucus must deliver their intention in writing to Democratic Town Committee Chairman Jay DiPucchio, by 5 p.m. on March 21.

Notice may be by mail, email or hard copy. Candidates must have been registered Democrat as of Dec. 31.

Democrats seek state convention delegates

MONTAGUE — The Democratic Town Committee on March 31 will select delegates to this year’s state convention.

Registered Democrats in Montague will hold a caucus at the second floor meeting room of Montague Town Hall, 1 Avenue A, Turners Falls, at 7:30 p.m. to elect five delegates and four alternates to the Massachusetts Democratic Convention to be held June 4 at the Lowell Convention Center.
This local caucus is a meeting that is open to all Democrats registered in Montague by Jan. 31.

Registered attendees are eligible to vote or run for one of the five openings available to represent Montague Democrats at the convention.
Delegates must be divided equally among men and women.

Candidates must consent to nomination in writing. Candidates may make a one-minute statement to the meeting and may distribute materials.

Democratic Town Committee Meeting date announced

MONTAGUE — The Democratic Town Committee will meet March 31 at 6:15 p.m., to reorganize from the March 1 primary election and prepare for the caucus at 6:30 p.m.

Any registered Democrat may attend.
