When James McGovern told Congress, “We have a presumptive nominee for president facing 88 felony counts, and we’re prevented from even acknowledging it,” and, “He’s also charged with conspiring to overturn the election. He’s also charged with stealing classified information. And a jury has already found him liable for rape in a civil court,” McGovern was merely stating facts established in courts of law [“GOP silences McGovern for Trump remarks,” Gazette, May 24].

Republicans again demonstrate unwillingness and inability to recognize, acknowledge, and “allow” reality, court-established facts, to affect their behavior. Those who support Republican behavior like this are themselves just as guilty of willful ignorance and a dangerous blindsiding of U.S. American thought.
