Franklin County Tech girls basketball team wins a state championship and their very dark photo is on page Page 2 of the Sports section. Why? On the bottom half of the front of the Sports section is a large article with an action picture of a team that came in as second place finishers, then another bigger action shot with more write-up on page 7. Don’t get me wrong; there is nothing to be ashamed of in losing. We all learn as we go along. I have played several high school sports and even was a field hockey coach at Turners for several years, and completely understand the love of the sport and the big time commitment it takes for daily practice. I personally feel you cheated the Eagles girls basketball team by not giving them the respect the girls earned on the front of the sports section.
