HS Roundup: Greenfield’s MacKenzie Paulin throws no-hitter to lift Green Wave past Hopkins, 6-1

Greenfield’s MacKenzie Paulin was dealing against the Hopkins Academy softball team on Thursday.
The senior threw a no-hitter, striking out 21 and allowing just three walks as the Wave walked away with a 6-1 independent victory in Hadley.
Greenfield (2-0) scored twice in the third inning. Anna Bucala singled in a run before Meghan Collins grounded out to knock in a run. The Wave added four in the fourth, as Gloria McDonald drove in two with a base hit while Bucala hit a sacrifice fly while McDonald later scored on an error.
Madison Lemay knocked three hits including a double in the winning effort.
Frontier 12, Pioneer 3 — The Redhawks raced out to a 6-0 lead after three innings to take down the Panthers in an independent contest in Northfield on Thursday.
Delaney Fifield and Raine Wonsey both tallied three hits and three RBIs while Abigail Schreiber, Olivia Machon and Skyler Steele each knocked a pair of hits while Ashley Taylor struck out seven in the circle for Frontier. Luci Burnap cracked a pair of hits and knocked in a pair of runs while Jaelyn Boliski struck out nine for Pioneer.
Frontier 4, Greenfield 1 — Redhawk Oliver Brown pulled out a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win in No. 2 singles over Shane Toomey in Frontier’s victory in South Deerfield Thursday.
Xavier Fripp earned a 6-1, 6-2 win in No. 3 singles, Noah Nichols and Harrison Manning picked up a 6-3, 6-1 triumph in No. 1 doubles while Liam Wells and Matt Sibley earned a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 2 doubles for the Redhawks.
