Bulletin Board: Two Franklin County Bulldog, two Frontier youth football teams Super Bowl-bound

The Franklin County Junior Bulldogs are heading to the Super Bowl. 

Facing Frontier on Sunday in the semifinals, Benjamin Woodard hit Avery Lococo for a touchdown to tie the game in the third quarter before Wesley Darling blocked a punt and Jackson Puchalski ran in the game-winning score, lifting the Bulldogs to a 14-6 Western Mass. Suburban Amateur Football League victory. 

Lococo added a 2-point try, Darling finished with eight tackles and one sack while Lococo had an interception and deflected two passes in the victory. Frontier’s score came on a fumbled kick return by the Bulldogs. 

The Bulldogs will face South Hadley on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. at Agawam High School in the Super Bowl. 

Franklin County PeeWee Bulldogs 24, South Hadley 14 — The Franklin County PeeWee Bulldogs are also Super Bowl-bound, as Brock Puchalski ran in three touchdowns and returned a pick to the house in the Bulldogs’ win over South Hadley Sunday. 

Elijah Kolosewicz and Lucas Gould led the way on the offensive line while Majer Rodriguez, Jace Brunelle, Kent Warner and Pheonyx Maynard led the charge on the defensive front. 

Franklin County will meet top-seeded Frontier in the Super Bowl at 9:30 a.m. at Agawam High School.

Frontier PeeWees 29, Quabbin 15 – In the other semifinal on Sunday, Frontier received points from Johnny Stanisewski, Kyree Petrizzi-Richmond, Lane Kicza and Barrett Kicza to advance to the Super Bowl.

The ferocious defensive effort was led by Ryan Washburn and Logan Elias.

Frontier Seniors 28, Quabbin 12 – The Frontier Seniors are also Super Bowl-bound, capturing a decisive win over Quabbin on Sunday.

Riggins Kopcza led the way with three touchdowns, two through the air from Caden Washburn. Kk Taylor ran for over 100 yards with a touchdown to also aid the cause.

In the Senior Division Super Bowl at 12:15 p.m., top-seeded Frontier will tangle with No. 2 Northampton in Agawam.

FCHA results

The FCHA 10U squad split its games over the weekend, falling to Westfield (6-2) but beating Amherst (3-2). 

Patrick Malloy and Charlie Lovett scored while Hunter Wilkins had an assist against Westfield. Against Amherst, Malloy, Lovett and Danielle Zraunig had the goals while Brantley Godfrey and Lovett provided the assists.

Greenfield Touch Football League

J&J Athletics 21, Sirum 13 — Mak Rodgers threw touchdown passes to Patrick Clancy, Tyson Dowdy and Eric Pardee while Clancy added a safety in J&J’s Greenfield Touch Football League victory on Sunday. 

Malcolm Smith ran in a touchdown while Parker Hickey returned a pick to the house for Sirum. 

Namaste Pink Panthers 20, Blitzing Bears 0 — Jarod Hart fired touchdowns to Dan Jenks and Mason Meadows in the Panthers’ victory Sunday. Steve Torres, Christopher Charles and Jason Riviera played well for the Bears. 

Gill CC Woodworking 31, Namaste Rockets 0 — Pat Viencek threw a pair of touchdowns to Jalen Sanders while also adding touchdown passes to Keyshawn Brantley, Cody Underwood and Adam Bastarache in Gill’s triumph Sunday. 

Trevor Thomas, Tim Thornton and Michael Lopez played well in the loss.
