‘’’: A brilliant expose’

“Fahrenheit 9/11” is a must-see movie. Michael Moore strikes again with a brilliant expose of how/why Trump won. Using his usual mix of media footage, interviews and his own commentary, he tells a horror story. Here is everything you know and some you don’t about our current leader’s ability to get away with the most despicable behavior, out in the open, because no one was able or cared to stop him.

The details of the destruction of Flint Michigan alone is worth seeing. (Trump was emboldened to disparage and attack minorities after Michigan’s Gov. got away with poisoning the poorest city in the U.S. while providing fresh water to his General Motors cronies.)

We also see the DNC destroying Bernie Sanders’ campaign with lies and rigged results of state primary elections, so the establishment choice, Hillary Clinton, would get the nomination.

Watching this nightmare which continues in spades was sickening. It made optimist me wonder if anything can stop the rich and powerful from their death grip on our country (and the world). There is hope in this regard as progressive new faces in the Democratic Party, including many women, gained seats in Congress last November which Moore covers. He also highlights the West Virginia teachers strike which jump started a series of successful such actions nationwide. Interestingly, the term “rednecks” derives from the bandanas that union strikers wore, so it’s actually a badge of courage.

The next 18 months will determine whether the great majority of Americans who believe In seeing the best in each other, and want our government to help provide what’s necessary for its citizens to lead safe, healthy, productive, happy lives will be able to elect a president and Congress who are truly dedicated to that.
