GREENFIELD — A 25-year-old Greenfield man pleaded innocent to child rape and larceny charges in two separate but related cases during an arraignment in Franklin County Superior Court this week.

A Grand Jury returned indictments last month charging Derek Ryan Lecompte with aggravated rape of a child with a 5-year age difference; lasciviously posing/exhibiting a child in the nude; an unnatural act with a child; larceny over $250; larceny under $250; breaking and entering a building during the nighttime for a felony; breaking and entering a building during the daytime for a felony; and credit card fraud over $250.

According to the indictments, Lecompte allegedly had sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 12, lasciviously posed or exhibited the child in a state of nudity for the purpose of taking a picture and committed an unnatural and lascivious act with the child between June 2013 and February 2014. The alleged crimes took place in Greenfield, according to the indictments.

Last April, The Recorder reported that Lecompte was captured in Miami after fleeing while on trial on charges of posing a child in the nude, withholding evidence from police, resisting arrest and conspiracy. Police had said he cut off his court-ordered GPS anklet, fled and threatened to commit “suicide by cop” if found.

He faces additional charges in Superior Court of breaking into a building in Colrain and stealing silver candlesticks and utensils, as well as a building in Greenfield and stealing electronics, devices and video game consoles between February and April 2015.

He also allegedly spent more than $250 on a credit card belonging to one of the property owners, according to the indictments.

He was arraigned Tuesday and ordered held without bail at the Franklin County jail on the child-related charges and bail was set at $100,000 cash or surety without prejudice for the larceny-related charges.

He is due back in court May 31 for a conference to review status.
