The Franklin County Bulldogs went on the road and defeated Ludlow, 34-14, on Sunday. Wesley Darling started the scoring for the Bulldogs, recording two safeties to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead. Darling finished the game with nine tackles and a fumble recovery.
Avery Lococo scored on a 21-yard rush in the second quarter. Jackson Puchalski added an 18-yard rushing touchdown later in the frame. Lococo scored his second touchdown of the game in the third quarter on an 8-yard rush. Benjamin Woodard connected on a 30-yard touchdown pass to Lococo on the final play of the game.
Nate Ortiz (five tackles), Logan King (four tackles), Toby Campbell (three tackles) and Owen Castine (two tackles) helped the defensive effort. Campbell added a blocked kick, while Castine recovered a fumble for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs have a showdown with undefeated South Hadley on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2:15 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Field.
Youth field hockey
Greenfield 12, Southwick 0 — The Green Wave loaded up on the offense in the win over the Rams on September 23. Dani Zraunig led the way with three goals and two assists. Penelope Gioules (three assists) and Savannah Thomas both chipped in with two goals. Makenna Ward and Grayson Baker had a goal and an assist. Junie Lentz, Claira Pompilli and Maddie Coughlin all found the net. Tayanna N’dissi and Ruby Neil held down the defensive end while Aaliyah Dowdy made two saves in net.
High school
Four Rivers 7, Academy at Charlemont 1 — The Otters got two goals each from Silas Kopera, Desi Peters and Owen Baril in the win on Sept. 17. Aksel Kotright-Clark also scored.
Four Rivers 7, Saint Michael’s 0 — Kopera netted four goals in the win for the Otters on Sept. 15. Peters, Eli Skinder and Oscar Gradick also found the net for Four Rivers.
