In reference to your article on Airbnb on May 23, as normal in Massachusetts, our progressive politicians are looking for ways to tax us more.
Our esteemed Senate president, after voting himself a 40 percent pay raise along with the other elites whom we have put in office, placed a $15 million to $18 million boondoogle on our backs. But then Senate President Stanley Rosenberg goes on to say the new tax on Airbnb will bring in $18 million in the first six months after it is enacted. That is 15 percent of all revenue for the year in just six months. That’s nice work if you can get it.
This reminds me of the old saying, “Figures don’t lie, but liars figure.” This is like history repeating itself as in medieval times, when the royalty and elite (politicians) lived off the serfs’ labors. We sheeple never seem to learn.
