9:19 a.m. — The Shelburne Control Dispatch Center received a call from a crisis text line that a man just shot his girlfriend and then himself on East Main Street. Confirmed “swatting” call. No gunshot victims inside or outside the building. Officer spoke with management and advised them of the ongoing issues.

1:03 p.m. — FirstLight Hydro Generating Co. employee reports that on May 6, at around 8:33 p.m., two younger males got through the fence to Cabot Station and went into the fish counting room, which was unlocked. They unplugged the fish counting camera. No other damage has been noticed. Employee just wanted the incident on record.

Tuesday, May 12

12:22 p.m. — Reporting party from Oakman Street reports there is a crew in front of his house cutting trees and they just tore down a wire. Officer advises there is a downed electrical wire across the roadway, vehicles unable to pass. Contacted Eversource. Comcast and Verizon phone lines involved.

2:36 p.m. — Reporting party from East Main Street reports a female party stole two Amazon packages from outside her door. Officer advised. Spoke to both parties about the incident. Report taken.

Wednesday, May 13

4:06 p.m. — Walk-in to station is looking to speak to an officer about getting property from his mother’s home. Aaron Jackson, 39, of Agawam, was arrested on a warrant.

Thursday, May 14

8:46 a.m. — Reporting party on Montague City Road would like to speak with an officer about suspicious activity on her cellphone. Reports possible hacking as she cannot access her applications. Advised to reset passwords and log in.

5:08 p.m. — Caller on Fourth Street reports there is no power and a transformer is smoking. Eversource on scene.

Friday, May 15

7:11 p.m. — The Shelburne Control Dispatch Center took a call about a truck that was “all over the road” heading north on Route 63. Vehicle was located and followed, no infractions witnessed.

9:20 p.m. — Reporting party states that while her car was parked on Griswold Street, the car parked in front of hers backed up when it was leaving, struck her bumper, then pulled away. No damage to the vehicle that was struck, but the owners exchanged information.

Saturday, May 16

4:08 a.m. — Reporting party states her neighbor’s dog has been outside since 10:00 p.m. barking and whining. Reporting party has not been able to sleep because the noise is too loud. Reporting party advised the house is on the corner of Griswold Street and Avenue C. Officer states he made contact with the owner, who has five dogs and forgot to bring one in earlier. Dog has since been brought inside.

10:41 a.m. — Reporting party would like to speak to a supervisor about two detail officers on Route 63 not paying attention to traffic, creating a dangerous situation. Reporting party’s complaint was listened to and a satisfactory resolution was reached. A follow-up with all involved parties was conducted.

8:33 p.m. — Report of five or six cows in the roadway on Wendell Road. Officer advised. Area checked, unable to locate any cows.

Sunday, May 17

12:35 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a car parked in the parking lot of Food City on Avenue A with a dog inside and the windows rolled up. No one around the car is the owner. Vehicle gone upon officer’s arrival.

2:29 p.m. — Reporting party reports an elderly male is yelling at children in the roadway on Avenue A, threatening them. A second caller reports the male was yelling and told him to “go kill himself.” Man was inside Subway and is now outside causing a disturbance. Man could be heard in the background yelling. Officers spoke to the involved parties and they were moved along. Peace restored.

8:10 p.m. — Reporting party on Second Street states he is trying to leave his house and two squirrels just attacked him. Would like an officer, states he does not need medical attention. Officer advises a mother and baby squirrel live above the house and the baby couldn’t climb up high enough. Squirrels are not injured or rabid. Officer helped the reporting party out of the house. Reporting party is planning to park his car in the back of the house to avoid the squirrels.

Monday, May 18

12:11 a.m. — Caller states she can hear a dog yelping/barking in the area where she lives. Caller states it sounds like the dog is being hurt or is stuck in some type of trap. Reporting party states the noise seems to be coming from the James Avenue/Coolidge Avenue area. Officer advises he checked the area and listened, and he could hear a loud tree frog that the reporting party could have mistaken as something else. No signs of any animals in distress.

3:45 a.m. — Caller from Third Street states someone stole roughly 25 of her insulin pens at some point the other day. Reporting party believes one of her neighbors did it. Officer spoke to the reporting party and advised her of her options.

8:50 a.m. — Reporting party from Kharma Salon on Avenue A states her client’s husband will walk while she is getting her hair done and he comes back in 10 minutes, but it’s been an hour and he hasn’t returned. Officer located the male party by Cumberland Farms and is giving him a ride back to his wife.

5:06 p.m. — Reporting party states threatening flyers have been put on multiple vehicles in the parking lot at the Silvio O. Conte Anadromous Fish Research Laboratory on Migratory Way. Report taken.

8:19 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a white car in front of the fire hydrant by the softball field at Turners Falls High School and it’s blocking his car so he is unable to leave. Officer advises the vehicle has plenty of room to get out of the space.

Tuesday, May 19

1:15 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a yellow Jeep parked in front of Kharma Salon on Avenue A with a dog inside. Windows are down but the dog has been left there for 15 minutes. Officer advises the owner is in the salon and can see the dog from inside. Dog has water in the vehicle and all the windows are down. Does not appear to be in any distress.

8:47 p.m. — Reporting party from Third Street states her neighbor was outside drinking a soda and when she went upstairs, the neighbor stole her cat carrier and is refusing to give it back. Officer states the property was returned to the rightful owner.

Wednesday, May 20

7:42 p.m. — Reporting party on West Street states he hired someone to paint for him and the male party has come back today and is doing work there without permission. He would like the male party removed. The owners will be there in 20 minutes. Unable to locate.

11:44 p.m. — Caller states there is a utility pole next to the old firehouse in Lake Pleasant that has ivy growing on it going toward the power lines. Reporting party believes this is a fire hazard. Officer checked the area, all is OK.

Thursday, May 21

9:29 a.m. — Reporting party from Davis Road states that overnight, someone came onto his property and stole a gas can with a few gallons of gas in it that was on his back porch and another 2-gallon jug filled with hydraulic fluid. Reporting party states there has been a drone flying low in his yard at night as well. Reporting party plans to get better cameras to oversee the property.

10:00 a.m. — Parks & Recreation Department director reports vandalism to the portable toilet at Unity Park. Vandalism occurred overnight. There is some surveillance footage of the individuals who did it. Report taken.

Friday, May 22

12:13 p.m. — Sheffield Elementary School employee reports an older male party has recently been showing up at around 11:30 a.m. and sitting at the picnic table in the little league field area. He arrives on an e-bike, smokes cigarettes and appears to be watching the kids while they are outside for recess. Male party is no longer in the area. Officers are going to the residence of the male party they believe it is. Made contact with the male party who stated he was the man the school was calling about. He was advised of the complaint.

2:47 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a male and female screaming loudly at each other in the parking lot across from the former Farren Care Center on Montague City Road and it sounds aggressive. Upon arrival, there was a female parked with a flat tire that was unrelated, who states the male and female were in the parking lot when she pulled in but have since left. No argument heard, involved parties gone on arrival.

Saturday, May 23

12:59 p.m. — Reporting party states someone rear-ended him at the intersection of Federal Street and North Leverett Road. Both vehicles are drivable. Honda will be left there and picked up later. Report taken.

9:23 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a large black bear on Chestnut Street going through trash barrels in the neighborhood. Bear left toward the woods.

Sunday, May 24

3:20 p.m. — Caller on Kingsley Avenue reports hearing a female party yelling “please let me go, you are hurting me.” A male party left on foot. Female reports it was a verbal argument only. She left the apartment and headed home. Officer located the male and he also reports that it was a verbal argument and he left to cool off. Services rendered.

6:06 p.m. — Report of loud music at K and Fifth streets. Resident stopped the music when officers pulled up. Would not answer the door.

Monday, May 25

11:06 a.m. — Reporting party from Bangs and Federal streets wants it on record that her “NO LIBRARY” sign was stolen. No officer needed at this time.

12:01 p.m. — Reporting party from Central Street states she was assaulted by her granddaughter, would like an officer to respond. Report taken.
