2:23 p.m. — Caller from I Street is complaining of a loud noise created by the upstairs neighbor. Spoke with both parties. Upstairs party states he dropped something on accident. Ongoing issues, mediated for now.
6:33 p.m. — Reporting party states she is inside Walgreen’s on Avenue A and witnessed a juvenile boy get out of a vehicle, lift up a lamppost cement block, put something under it and then leave. Would like an officer to investigate. Officer advising it looks like a geocaching spot.
Tuesday, March 24
10:08 a.m. — Caller on Griswold Street reports her oven is on fire. Police and firefighters responding. Officer advises it’s an electric stove. Fire has been extinguished.
3:54 p.m. — Possible structure fire reported on Montague City Road. Smoke coming from the basement. Building evacuated. Fire is under control. Textbook or magazine on top of a water heater caught on fire. Homeowner put the fire out with a hose.
Wednesday, March 25
3:07 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a large yellow sled or child’s toy in the middle of Turners Falls Road and they had to swerve around it.
3:34 p.m. — Keene Police Department calling to see if an officer can check an address for a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run in their town. Officer states the vehicle is in the driveway. Vehicle shows red paint damage and damage on the driver’s side.
Thursday, March 26
3:35 p.m. — Reporting party on Turnpike Road states a male party was walking up and down her fence line, and one of the dogs jumped over the fence. The male party reportedly chased the dog and the dog bit him. Animal control officer requested. Victim declined medical services. Reports filed with the animal control officer and Police Department.
4:14 p.m. — Multiple calls about a vehicle on North Leverett Road swerving, passing vehicles and almost hitting multiple people. Vehicle then reportedly pulled over, opened his door and sped off again. Officer drove the length of North Leverett Road and did not find the vehicle.
Friday, March 27
11:44 a.m. — Caller on Turners Falls Road states the vehicle in front of him had a tire fall off and it bounced and hit his car, causing some damage. Report issued. Vehicle towed.
2:54 p.m. — Caller on Unity Street reports that a female party driving a silver Honda CR-V pulled out directly in front of her, forcing her to drive on the sidewalk to avoid a collision. Reporting party was able to get the license plate number. Officer advised.
Saturday, March 28
9:25 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a dog tied to a fence near Miller Falls Road with nobody around. Area checked, no dogs located.
4:05 p.m. — Reporting party would like an officer to check on a commercial vehicle that is parked near the church on L Street, blocking the view of drivers looking to pull out. Officer spoke to the owner/operator of the truck and he will move it.
Sunday, March 29
1:19 p.m. — Caller from Hillside Road states there is a lot of smoke coming from somewhere across the street. Shelburne Control Dispatch Center notified. Reporting party called in again stating no one checked on the fire earlier and the smoke is still going. Contacted the Turners Falls Fire Department. Burn permit in use. Firefighters drove by earlier and saw no issues. Will drive by again within an hour to make sure the fire is out.
10:14 p.m. — Reporting party from Avenue A states she has been hearing dogs barking for two hours and is worried about their welfare. Officer advised.
11:45 p.m. — Caller from Park Street reports a loud dog has been barking for a while. Officer advised. Officer advises he checked the area and did not hear any barking.
