Tuesday, Feb. 24

7:24 a.m. — Bus company reports the gates are malfunctioning at the train tracks on Lake Pleasant Road. Bus cannot pass through because the gates are stuck down. Officer advising the bus will need to reroute. Contacted CSX, which will be sending a crew to fix the gate.

12:16 p.m. — Caller states he was just at Unnameable Books on Avenue A and spent about 30 minutes in there looking around. Caller did not locate any staff in the building. When he left, he checked the sign that said the business is closed and would not reopen until the next day. Door was left unlocked. Officer advising the front door is open and no one is in the business. Contacted the property owner, who is en route.

7:49 p.m. — Reporting party states he got his Prius stuck in a snowbank in the alleyway on Third Street. Officer spoke to the reporting party, who was advised a tow truck could be called or he could have friends assist him. States he still does not want a tow truck and will call if he changes his mind. Reporting party called back seeking information for a tow company. Caller was provided with phone numbers for both Rau’s Sunoco Service and Koch’s Automotive.

Wednesday, Feb. 25

8:35 a.m. — Caller on Unity Street reports a car is on top of a snowbank and the occupants can’t get the doors open. Montague Police and Turners Falls Fire departments responding. Occupants were able to get out and get the vehicle unstuck. No damage or injuries.

10:21 a.m. — Crash reported on South Prospect Street involving an oil delivery truck. No injuries. Airbag deployment. Turners Falls Fire Department was toned out as well. Vehicle towed.

4:34 p.m. — Reporting party from West Chestnut Hill Road states she believes there is a scam that got her information. Caller just wants it on record at this time because she saw online to contact police. Name of the company that contacted her is Cortez Movers.

Thursday, Feb. 26

11:44 p.m. — Caller reports a red truck with a logo on it has been parked behind a building on Third Street for roughly 20 minutes, is running and has its flashers activated, possibly hazard lights. Reporting party believes there is someone sleeping in the driver’s seat. Officers advised. Christian C. Antunes, 48, of Mohawk Trail in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of OUI-liquor over .08% and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Friday, Feb. 27

5:26 p.m. — Reporting party states that this morning at 10 a.m., she was at Cumberland Farms on Montague City Road and a man tried to kidnap her. States she walked around the store until he left and then she went home. Caller states she is now back at the store and was told by staff she needs to call the Police Department. Officers advised. Reporting party does not have a description of the man, but believes the store has video footage. Officers arrived, took a report from the reporting party and attempted to view the security footage at Cumberland Farms, but the employees were unable to gain access. Employees advised they will contact the Police Department when they are able to fix the issue.

8:56 p.m. — Officers could hear yelling in the area of Millers Pub on East Main Street. Checked the area and spoke to multiple people who were happy that a friend showed up. No need for police services.

Saturday, Feb. 28

1:22 p.m. — Reporting party states he pulled into his business on Federal Street, which was closed, and there was a silver Subaru with Connecticut plates there. Caller spoke to the male driver to see if he needed something. Reporting party states the driver was acting “skittish” and didn’t really have a reason why he was there. After a quick conversation, the driver left without incident. Reporting party just wanted this documented in case the vehicle is spotted somewhere else.

7:09 p.m. — Caller reports a physical fight is happening at the recreation building at Unity Park. Officers advised. Contact made with a group of juveniles. No fight happening.
