5:34 a.m. — Alarm sounding at the Discovery School at Four Corners on Ferrante Avenue. Keyholder was contacted by the alarm company, not responding at this time. Building looks secure, no lights on, unable to access the building as the driveway has not been plowed. No tire marks or footprints seen in the driveway.
9:58 a.m. — Caller from Pickett Lane reports the neighbor is yelling at their plow guy. Property dispute over plowing easement. Advised of options.
1:18 p.m. — Caller on Pray Drive is upset that maintenance won’t shovel his steps until the storm stops. Advised to call management.
8:20 p.m. — Reporting party on Riverside Drive states young teens keep calling her names over the phone. After she told one of them she would be calling 911, now she is receiving apology text messages. Caller was advised the incident will be documented and to decline any further phone calls.
Tuesday, Jan. 27
11:12 a.m. — Male party wielding a metal garden shovel at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street. Verbal altercation while the man was holding a shovel. No assault occurred and the other involved party left prior to police arrival.
3:47 p.m. — Reporting party reports a traffic hazard at Golden Nozzle Car Wash on Newton Street. Cars are blocking the road trying to get into the car wash. Other vehicles are driving into oncoming traffic trying to get around them.
8:08 p.m. — Crash with injuries reported on Wildwood Avenue. James Robert Bennett IV, 20, of Wildwood Avenue in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of OUI-liquor over .08%, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, driving at a rate of speed greater than what was reasonable and proper, person under 21 in possession of liquor, leaving the scene of property damage, vandalizing property and open container/drinking alcohol in public.
Wednesday, Jan. 28
12:37 a.m. — Traffic stop on Deerfield Street. Jose E. Vazquez, 34, of Springfield, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession of a firearm with a defaced number in a felony, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and carrying a firearm without a license. Also arrested was Tom Kenneth Rivera, 38, also of Springfield, on charges of possession of a Class B drug (subsequent offense), carrying a loaded firearm without a license, a firearms violation with three prior violent/drug crimes and carrying a firearm without a license.
2:40 p.m. — Reporting party states he walked in the front door of The Salvation Army on Chapman Street and the alarm went off. Does not see anyone around the building. Alarm company called to report the alarm. Attempted to contact keyholder, no answer. Officer cleared the building, no one inside. Front doors unsecured, several alarms set off by the officer. Keyholder arrived as the officer was leaving.
9:01 p.m. — Reporting party at Pine Ridge Estates on Bradford Drive heard what they believe to be multiple gunshots in the area. Officers checked the area, unfounded.
Thursday, Jan. 29
1:40 p.m. — Hazardous condition reported at Cherry Rum Plaza on Bernardston Road. Singular pole looks like it was hit by a snowplow and has a big crack in it. Eversource was advised and will be sending someone to check the pole. Eversource states the pole is Verizon’s responsibility. Verizon notified.
8:59 p.m. — Traffic stop at Elm and Devens streets. Douglas Michael Belanger, 37, of Mountain Road in Erving, was arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine (18 grams or more but less than 36 grams), possession of a Class B drug (subsequent offense), possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense), possession of a large-capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, firearms violation with three prior violent/drug crimes, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of an unserialized firearm (ghost gun).
Friday, Jan. 30
6:06 a.m. — Allen A. Smith, 41, of Juniper Court in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant at Juniper Court.
9:29 a.m. — Caller from Hope Street would like an officer to assist her with her vehicle. States the vehicle in front of her parked too close. Party was assisted in leaving the parking spot. Vehicle in front of her was parked illegally. Parking enforcement advised.
2:58 p.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on Main Street. Anthony Shields, 35, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
7:48 p.m. — Reporting party from Park Street dropped off 10 boxes of Girl Scout cookies at the wrong address, went back and now they are gone. Looking to speak to an officer. Missing cookies were located and delivered to the rightful owner. Services rendered.
Saturday, Jan. 31
12:20 p.m. — Report of a bicycle thrown into a snowbank on Deerfield Street. Not a hazard. Will check on it later to see if it was picked up. No bicycle has been reported stolen.
8:21 p.m. — Report of a parking problem on Hope Street. Reporting party states there is a party and the guests are parked in such a way that no one can drive past the vehicles. Second call reporting there are multiple vehicles parked in the area, making the road impassable. One vehicle causing an issue, was moved upon an officer’s arrival.
Sunday, Feb. 1
1:27 p.m. — Walk-in to the station is looking to speak with an officer about her cellphone that she thinks was stolen. Phone was left in a gas station bathroom. Incident report filed.
3:53 p.m. — Traffic stop at Main Street and Bank Row. Xavier Christian Bolorin, 24, of Springfield, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
