Chase Zraunig scored on a backhand goal late in the first period before Brady Poreda cut the lead to 3-2 early in the second period. Zraunig scored a shorthanded goal late with 46 seconds left in the third period to make the score 4-3. Zraunig completed the hat trick for the Wave in the third period. The goal tied the game, 4-4.
Cody Shaw netted the game-winner with three minutes, 47 seconds left in regulation for the Spartans.
“It’s going to come down to everybody on the team needing to be consistent with the systems we have put in place,” Bouchard said. “It shows that when we follow those systems we are a good, hard hockey team to play against. “
