2:20 p.m. — Report of a person blowing leaves into the roadway at Deerfield and Meridian streets. Checked area, no one seen blowing leaves. Some leaves were cleared from the sidewalk just off the curb, just south of Meridian Street on the east side.
3:32 p.m. — Reporting party states she saw a school bus pulled over in the area of Factory Hollow Road and saw the bus driver whistling at and chasing after a child. Gone on arrival.
Thursday, Oct. 16
10:30 a.m. — Caller at Power Court believes she was impacted by a scam. Reporting party attempted to access a website and was on the phone with someone, then lost $700. Report taken.
10:59 a.m. — Reporting party would like to inform police that she and a handful of other people were planning to walk down the Federal Street sidewalk on Saturday holding non-offensive signs. Stated they were aware of the relevant laws and would contact police if they had any concerns. Provided contact information. Services rendered.
3:24 p.m. — Reporting party states she received a call from someone claiming to be Sgt. Alvin Cummins from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. When she spoke with the Sheriff’s Office after, they stated they do not have a sergeant with that name. Common scam call. She did not give out any information or money.
5:31 p.m. — Report of a trespassing person at The People’s Pint on Federal Street. Reporting party states the individual is walking back and forth in front of the restaurant after being kicked out. Gone on arrival. Business was advised to call if he returned.
Friday, Oct. 17
7:51 a.m. — Report of vandalism on Plain Road. White sedan left the scene. A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested on charges of vandalizing property and breaking and entering into a vehicle/boat in the daytime for a felony.
12:39 p.m. — Person reported to be laying down across from the parking garage on Olive Street. Party was taking a nap off the sidewalk and was asked to find a different spot.
7:55 p.m. — Report of an injured skunk in the area of Green River Road. Animal control officer advised.
8:31 p.m. — Gabriel Duarte Tavares, 20, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant on Chapman Street.
Saturday, Oct. 18
9:36 a.m. — Caller from Lincoln Street reports receiving calls from someone claiming to be with the Attorney General’s Office advising that her Apple ID information was compromised and instructing her to withdraw money from her retirement fund and put it into a new account. Advised party of appearance of a scam. Party had not provided any information and no losses occurred.
3:07 p.m. — Report of unwanted people at Mesa Verde on Fiske Avenue. Officers sent. Reporting party states there are two people on the patio area who are refusing to leave. Unable to locate. Provided reporting party with no-trespassing options. Party was advised to contact police if they return.
3:40 p.m. — Officer stopping a vehicle on Bank Row. Warning issued to driver about unsafe operation of a vehicle through the protest area of Main and Federal streets. Driver was frustrated about the blocked roadway and people in the road.
4:11 p.m. — Officer speaking with drivers at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street about their vehicles causing diesel smoke in the protest area of Main and Federal streets. Drivers were frustrated about people blocking the roadway.
Sunday, Oct. 19
5:23 a.m. — Caller from Woodard Road states he can see someone on his camera trying to get into cars. Cody W. Desrosier, 31, of Armory Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant, as well as on charges of breaking and entering into a vehicle/boat in the nighttime for a felony (two counts), larceny under $1,200 and attempting to commit a crime.
10:07 a.m. — Report of breaking and entering into a vehicle on Hayes Avenue. Vehicle was unlocked. Nothing of value taken. Missing a children’s backpack.
4:21 p.m. — Reporting party reports a suspicious black sedan with Massachusetts plates is parked up against the fence, with a male party dressed in all black, carrying a stick. Reporting party states this same individual was here earlier for about 30 minutes and has been back for at least 15 minutes. Male party is pacing with a walking stick, states he is all set and is waiting for his friend.
Monday, Oct. 20
1:51 a.m. — Staff at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street reporting two female parties are arguing outside the store, and there is a third female party just watching the argument. Verbal dispute. All parties went their separate ways. Peace restored.
9:58 a.m. — Report of breaking and entering into a vehicle on Hope Street. Purse and medications stolen from an unsecured vehicle. Report taken.
1:47 p.m.— Report of an unwanted person at Mesa Verde on Fiske Avenue. Officers sent. Female party refusing to leave and threatening staff. Party gone on arrival. Discussed the no-trespassing process with the reporting party.
4:16 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a refrigerator on the side of the road on Conway Street, with the doors on it. Feels it is unsafe and breaking a law not having the doors removed. Refrigerator is on the grass strip with a “FREE” sign on it. Resident was unaware of the requirement and agreed to take care of it. Services rendered.
Tuesday, Oct. 21
7:50 a.m. — Report of a disabled vehicle on Bank Row. Tractor trailer attempting to fit under the bridge, backing up traffic. Has not struck the bridge. Gone on arrival. Road clear.
4:28 p.m. — Reporting party advises her grandson’s iPhone and AirPods are missing. Reporting party does have location services on the devices and wants to know what steps to take to retrieve them when the location updates. No answer on callback, left a message.
5:10 p.m. — Oil spill reported at CVS Pharmacy on Federal Street. Spill is reportedly moving into a nearby drain. Officer responding. Spill estimated to be 20 to 50 gallons of liquid asphalt. Department of Public Works contacted, will attempt to send a sand truck. Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection contacted. Message left for suspect to call police back. MassDEP on scene. Spill area cordoned off with caution tape.
Wednesday, Oct. 22
6:25 a.m. — Party from Chapman Court states her neighbor’s kids wake her up screaming and yelling every morning at 6:10 a.m. and she has asked them to keep it down, but they are refusing. Ongoing complaints, both parties stated they will be speaking to management. Situation mediated.
5:28 p.m. — Party from Conway Street believes her neighbor has a camera facing her home looking in her window. Party was advised it’s not illegal for her neighbors to have cameras. Services rendered.
8:37 p.m. — Report of a disabled vehicle by Starbucks on the Mohawk Trail. Involved vehicle’s rear hatch opened, which allowed groceries to fall into the roadway. Assisted with traffic and clearing items.
