Deanna Thompson
Greenfield, MA – Deanna M. Toce Thompson, Daughter of Sandra E
Phillips and Tomas N. Toce, a devoted mother, passionate gardener, and
pillar of strength, passed away peacefully on Aug 23, 2025 at the age
of 61. Born on Mar 24, 1964, Deanna was known for her unwavering work
ethic, boundless love, and the kind of inner strength that lifted
everyone around her. She dedicated her life to her family and to the
simple joys that brought beauty into the world – especially through
her love of gardening. Her hands were rarely still, whether she was
planting flowers, tending vegetables, or giving to others in the
quiet, generous ways she always did. She is survived by her beloved
children: Tia, Jen, Joe, and Costas – each of whom carries a piece of
her strength, compassion, and resilience. As a mother, she was both a
protector and a teacher, leading by example with courage and an open
heart. Also survived by her 6 beloved grandchildren Logan Nicholas,
Ellieanna, Amiyah, Odin and Hera also by her brother Dale, sister in
law Denise and sister Delise. Those who knew Deanna will remember her
not just for how hard she worked, but for how deeply she cared – for
her family, her home, and anyone in need. Her life was rooted in love,
and the legacy she leaves behind is one of perseverance, kindness, and
quiet grace. A Funeral Service will be held on Sep. 9, 2025 at the
Smith-Kellher Funeral Home at 87 Franklin St Greenfield Ma. Family
services from 5-6 and public service 6-7. In lieu of flowers, the
family asks that you plant something in her memory – a tree, a flower,
or anything that grows – just as she helped so many grow with her
love. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
