Council of Aging putting on movie night Friday

LEYDEN — The Council on Aging is hosting a free screening of “The Secret Life of Pets” Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Town Hall.

School chorus concert is Friday

NORTHFIELD — Pioneer Valley Regional School’s chorus program presents its “Ten Years Together” concert Friday at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Valley Regional School. Though the show is free, donations are welcome.

Town election caucus: Feb. 21

NORTHFIELD — The 2017 annual nonpartisan caucus, which is one way to set the ballot for May’s election, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall’s auditorium.

In order for the caucus to occur, at least 25 registered voters need to attend.

Individuals interested in being put on the ballot should attend the caucus, or fill out nomination papers which are available in the Town Clerk’s office.

Astronomy program rescheduled for Feb. 23

LEYDEN — The Council on Aging’s “Awesome Astronomy” program, originally scheduled for Feb. 9, has been postponed due to snow. It will now be held Thursday, Feb. 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Town Hall.

Robin Symonds, an astronomer and former director of the Charles Hayden Planetarium at Boston’s Museum of Science, will talk about discoveries in the past 20 years that have changed how astronomers view our solar system.
