Skiing

Mohawk boys third

Mohawk Trail Regional High School had two individuals finish in the top 10 and the Warriors finished third in the boys’ North Division during the PVIAC Alpine Ski League at Berkshire East Ski Resort in Charlemont.

Mohawk’s Dan White was the area’s top finisher, recording a time of 34.47 in the slalom to place sixth in the North and ninth overall. Warrior teammate Bennett Boucias was ninth in the North and 14th overall in 35.87.

The other team scorers for Mohawk were James Harrison in 30th overall (41.16) and Ryan Burke in 32nd overall (41.27).

Longmeadow High School cruised to an easy win in the North, beating Westfield High School by over 11 seconds. Mohawk placed third at 152.77.

Only two of Frontier’s three skiers finished the run — Ben Martino placed 51 st overall (45.45) and Billy Prunier was 56 th (46.80).

The girls’ giant slalom results were not available due to a timing issue at the mountain. It was unclear what would be done, but one option is throwing out the results that were saves and rescheduling the race.
