Once again, Jay Butynski, in his Dec. 6 column, “Unwarranted Vitriol in the Name of Sensitivity,” exemplifies his full commitment to the largest meaning of good sportsmanship. His words about the public “vitriol” aimed at the Turner Falls High School football team and coaches are a call to become loyally rooted in our home locales and in each other. His column is a call for civil discourse and empathy in the many other issues that come before us.

We are fans of area school teams and we are grateful to Jay for his constantly kind and respectful commentaries about our young people, fans, and coaching staff. We are grateful for his style of constructive writing and appreciative his insights, sports reviews.
