The New England Center for Circus Arts, 10 Town Crier Drive in Brattleboro, Vt., will hold an open house on Sunday, Aug. 7, to allow the public to come and try the flying trapeze, juggling and more circus-fun activities.

The center’s spring open house sold out almost immediately.

The open house is open to the public, so anyone can take a swing at trapezing.

What might a student expect from trying the flying trapeze? It is like a ropes course with grace — and a lot more air time. But, of course, with safety lines and a net.

You don’t have to participate, though. You can simply go and watch.

The cost to get a swing on the flying trapeze is $5 per person. Reservations start on site at 4:45 p.m., along with a free flying demonstration from the center’s students from 4:45 to 5 p.m.

You can take a flying run any time from 5 to 7 p.m. for the $5. It’s open to anyone age 7 and older. There will also be activities for younger children, including hooping and juggling.

Space is limited, so make your reservation on the flying trapeze early.
