10:09 a.m. — Report of an outside fire in the yard of a house on Central Street; and while someone is tending to the fire, it is against a metal wall, and the wind is picking up; Turners Falls Fire Department was notified, and en route.

10:56 a.m. — Report of a shopping cart in the road on L Street; officer checked and no carts were in the road, but one was on the tree belt and the officer pushed it further from the road; he then found two more carts were in a driveway on L Street; the officer sent a message to the manager of Food City to have someone retrieve the carts.

12:25 p.m. — Caller from Turners Falls Road reports there are people camping in a tent in the woods off this road, on the Greenfield side, on what the reporting person believed to be a Native American burial ground; the caller was referred to the Greenfield Police Department.

1:45 p.m. — ACO received a call about a sick or injured skunk on Court Square in Montague Center, and believes it is the same skunk that was reported in the area yesterday; the ACO called back at 2:05 advising the skunk has been taken care of.

3:09 p.m. — Caller from the Southworth Paper Mill on Canal Road says a breaking and entering occurred over the weekend, and the individual is on video; he stated several offices were entered and desks were gone through; a small amount of money, food and a knife were taken; officer to investigate.

5:06 p.m. — Caller from Federal Street reports what she thinks may be a sick fox in the field across from her house; officer sent, and area searched was negative.

6:22 p.m. — Caller from First Street reports a red Ford Taurus with unknown plates, and multiple occupants inside, smoking marijuana, at the parking area near the old bridge abutment; officer checked on the occupants and all were smoking cigarettes; but nothing else noted.

6:54 p.m. — Probation monitoring office requesting a check on a Randall Road person as they said he missed a 4 p.m. alcohol test, and they haven’t been able to get a hold of him; officer spoke to a person at the house, who indicated the male they were seeking went to court earlier today, due to a warrant; officer checked with the house of correction, and found the male is being held; electric monitoring office called back and they were advised of the situation.

9:47 p.m. — Officer at Unity Park at First Street spoke to several people at the skate park, and they were sent on their way.

10:24 p.m. — Caller reports someone threw eggs at her husband’s vehicle as he was coming up the hill; believed several people involved, but no description; officer checked the area, and believes the people involved were on Prospect Street, but haven’t been located.

10:40 p.m. — Request for a K-9 unit to respond to Briggs Street in Erving for a 15-year-old who was reported as “out of control,” and has taken off on foot; officer and K-9 Artie requested and are en route; found that the female has reportedly been picked up by a person in a white Ford Focus, and an officer was already in the area, and can check; after checking at the Roundhouse, and with Erving Police on the scene, it was learned the female was leaving with an older sister and going to Sunderland home, and later, at 10:44 it was determined the females are at home safely.

11:46 p.m. — Loud noise disturbance reported on Fourth Street where the male was reporting loud drums in the first-floor apartment at that building, and the caller said he had other minor issues; he was advised to take them up with the landlord, as they weren’t police issues; all quiet when officers arrived on the scene, but the first-floor tenant was advised of the complaint.

Orange, April 19

9:08 a.m. — Control got a report from Eddy Street that a sun roof was left open on a vehicle last night, and this morning the owner noticed a panel underneath the dash/glove box was ripped out, and there was dirt on the seat; the reporting person is at work in Fitchburg.

4:30 p.m. — Accident with property damage reported by a walk-in to say that a tree fell into the road as he was driving on East Main Street; there is damage to the front end, left side, and possibly the under carriage; the reporting person was advised it would be logged, and to contact his insurance company.

Greenfield, April 20

1:32 a.m. — Report that a red 2015 Subaru Legacy has been repossessed on Graves Road, and the caller said he would fax the paperwork as soon as he returns to Springfield, and that was done.

11:40 a.m. — Caller from Greenfield Country Estates on Adams Road stated he was outside with his dog and the neighbor started yelling at him; both are back inside their homes; officer spoke with him, and he was advised of harassment prevention orders.

1:13 p.m. — Accident reported on Forbes Court where the caller says there were no injuries; it was a car into a bicycle as she parked; the woman accidentally drove her car over the front of the other person’s front wheel while she was riding it, officer assisted with information exchange for bike repairs.

1:40 p.m. — Larceny reported on Beech Street where the walk-in says she lost her phone while riding a bicycle in the area; her daughter called it and someone answered, saying they would return it, yet never did. It may be done after the person who found it is out of class and home from school.

2:19 p.m. — Female on the TTY states she needs police and can’t talk, on Chapman Street; officers sent, and found a dispute over property, both were advised and the purse was returned to the caller.

2:33 p.m. — Report of a brown zipper wallet found in area of Staples on the Mohawk Trail.

3;01 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Wells Street where the caller says two females are pounding on her door; officers sent, and the women were gone on arrival of police.

12:53 p.m. — Caller from the area of the Energy Park on Miles Street says there are two men with open containers of alcohol, and being loud, gone on arrival of police.

4:09 p.m. — Accident at Petty Plain Road and Meridian Street, but no injuries reported; officer found a sign knocked over, minor vehicle damage, but possible undercarriage damage; the vehicle was moved safely off the roadway and is awaiting a private tow truck.

4:11 p.m. — Fire alarm activation at the Miles Street Hotel apartments; Fire Department and officers responded; Fire Department then requesting police for a possible intentional box alarm pull; someone possibly pulling the alarm and running; but then there was a report of burnt food from an apartment, and a fire officer is investigating; alarm reset.

4:49 p.m. — Caller states he witnesses a man urinating by a dumpster in the parking lot behind Green Fields Market, described as a white male wearing jeans and a gray sweatshirt; the known male was located in the area of Wells Street, lying on the ground of sidewalk, and was intoxicated; he was provided a courtesy transport to his residence on Deerfield Street, and left with caretakers there; the roommate was advised to look after him.

11:26 p.m. — Suspicious activity at Beacon field parking area on Sanderson Street, where two vehicles were parked, with two people there, they were advised of park hours and moved along.

11:48 p.m. — Caller from Deerfield Street on 911 requesting to be evaluated for a Section 12; Medcare on scene and the person was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare.

11:58 p.m. — Citizen at the Police Department requesting to speak to an officer regarding Greenfield not giving him any help; services rendered.

Montague, April 20

5:59 a.m. — Male caller on 911 reported that about 30 minutes ago he and his girlfriend were awakened by the sound of windows, and screens were opened in the house; prior to calling 911, the male checked the home and found no one inside, and if they had entered, it doesn’t appear anything was taken; officer en route; and area and home checked, two screens were pushed open from the outside, but it doesn’t appear entry was made.

7:39 a.m. — Accident reported on Lake Pleasant Street where one car and a deer collided; there was damage to the right side of the white Subaru Impreza; officer spoke with the person and he was told this would be documented and he was strongly advised that in the future to call when the incident happens.

8:39 a.m. — Vandalism reported on High Street where the reporting person says that overnight someone, or some thing, knocked down a portion of a picket fence in her backyard; she advised no need to speak to an officer, but would like this documented, and to have extra checks of the neighborhood.

9:11 a.m. — Caller from Millers Falls Road reports damage to her silver Nissan Rogue that she believe happened overnight, with damage to the roof and windshields; they were advised to contact their insurance company.

Montague, April 20

1:23 p.m. — Caller from Montague Street reports a suspicious vehicle that has been parked near his elderly mother’s home for a couple of days, and is partly in the tree belt; officer checked and found it partly in the tree belt and in the yard there, but nothing illegal noted; food and clothing were seen inside the vehicle.

5:41 p.m. — Neighborhood disturbance on Dunton Street where the caller is complaining about a neighbor running a, “chop shop,” in the driveway, and the reporting person stated the building has about three apartments; residents are working on cars in the driveway, and had one vehicle with the car seat on the roof; officer checking later advises Dunton, Griswold and Bulkley streets were all quiet.

5:50 p.m. — Accident reported at Fifth and J streets where the reporting person says a vehicle hit a telephone pole; she wasn’t involved. It appears the operator is standing outside of the vehicle; unknown if there were injuries, though there was an airbag deployment; officer, Fire Department and Medcare notified; officer requests Eversource be notified of a broken pole; the operator has already called a towing company; Fire Department will remain on scene until Eversource can arrive; citation issued for failure to use care.

Orange, April 20

3:36 p.m. — Reporting person requesting an officer regarding a possible breaking and entering, attempt; on officer’s arrival the reporting person said she had made sure all the windows and doors were locked before leaving at 1:45 p.m., and when she arrived home, her son’s bedroom window was slightly open; nothing missing and no signs that anyone made entry; the reporting person spoke with neighbors who had been outside, and they didn’t see anything suspicious.

Greenfield, April 21

5:26 a.m. — Disturbance at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street where the clerk says a man in a silver van is driving around the parking lot with one of its door open, and he is yelling at people while doing this; officers responded and the male was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, and processed under a Section 12.

8:35 a.m. — Hit-and-run accident reported on Smith Street, two Camrys involved; officer located one involved vehicle at Blessed Sacrament Church on Federal Street, where the operator of the incident was unaware of the accident; found consistent damage to both vehicles, a side collision only; one vehicle was parked unoccupied at the time of the accident.

10:10 a.m. — Parking problem on Sanderson Street where a vehicle was found parked on the tree belt; citation issued.

11:50 a.m. — Problem reported at the Key Starr Program on Park Street where they have a Section 12 in hand for an involved male who is aggressive with the staff members; officer responded and the male was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare.

2:20 p.m. — Accident reported at Wells and Allen streets, and no injuries reported, but the police on scene found fluids in the road; the Fire Department was notified, and one tow truck requested; report taken.

2:30 p.m. — Report of an accident at Greenfield Acres, on Congress Street (High Rise); a single car into a light pole base; two people were injured, both were transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, and the car was removed by a tow flatbed.

2:54 p.m. — Report of a walk-in that says there was fraud by check; under investigation.

3:59 p.m. — Disturbance at Clinical and Support Options on High Street where the employee says an involved male is outside screaming and ranting, but no weapons seen; officer on scene, and requested Medcare be notified for a Section 12; and then Medcare transported the person to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

6:44 p.m. — Officer at Elm Terrace to serve an arrest warrant; officer then has one in custody; arrested was Robert Hlavaty, 56, of Elm Terrace Apartments, Greenfield, on a warrant.

7:28 p.m. — General disturbance at the railroad tracks on Mill Street where the caller says eight to 10 people are partying, drinking, and being loud at this location; gone on arrival of police.

7:34 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Frederick Road, Greenfield. officer found a green/blue Camry parked in the reporting person’s driveway, and a male got out and walked through the yard to Oak Courts; male is now rummaging through the back seat of this vehicle; arrested was John Roberts Reynolds, 20, of Roaring Brook Road, Conway, charged with possession of a Class E drug.

7:39 p.m. — General disturbance reported on Pray Drive off Elm Street; the caller says neighborhood kids keep hitting his car while playing basketball, and he isn’t happy; officers sent, and peace was restored.

8:05 p.m. — Caller from Elm Terrace requests that police check on a resident there who, the caller says, was on the phone with the reporting person, and then the phone went dead, and has remained busy; the woman recently got home from the hospital; officer sent and found the resident unresponsive, but breathing; Fire Department and Medcare notified and en route; situation was attended by Medcare, and she refused transport.

9:17 p.m. — Welfare check requested for a person at the Winslow Building on Wells Street where the male had been making suicide statements, and possibly was using marijuana; officers responded, and the male told them he had a bad day and just wanted to be left alone; he also said he didn’t want to harm himself.

10:27 p.m. — Report that a black female in a camouflage skirt was kicking in windows at Mattress Outlet on Main Street, and screaming; the same woman allegedly threatened to kill the reporting person when he told her to stop; officers located the female matching the description inside the Main Street Bar and Grill, but she denied any involvement; a male, who was with her, told the officer that she did kick a business window up the street; she is being charged for vandalizing property, and will be summoned to court; report filed.

Montague April 21

6:45 a.m. — Caller from Taylor Hill Road reports a cow loose in the road; officer responded and checked the area, but no cows in the road.

Orange, April 21

12:05 a.m. — Officer stopped a motor vehicle on East Main Street for operating with a revoked registration and then found it was also involving operating without insurance and operating with a revoked license; and she will be summoned to court for those charges; the vehicle was removed form the roadway, and the officer then provided her with a courtesy transport to her employer. She was from Worcester.

Greenfield, April 22

2:08 a.m. — Traffic stop at High and Church streets where investigation leads to arrest of John Robert Reynolds, 20, of Roaring Brook Road Conway, charged with operating under the influence of liquor, and second charge of operating under the influence of liquor, with BAC of .08 or greater, and inspection violation (rejection for safety emission); the field PBT test was .094. One officer remained at the scene until the tow truck arrived.

9:52 a.m. — Report from Big Y Foods on the Mohawk Trail of a shoplifting incident; officers responded and the person was positively identified by the officers; the Big Y staff issued a no trespass order, and the subject was escorted out and off the property.

Orange, April 22

10:17 a.m. — Caller from New Athol Road reports she was at the Elks Lodge last night between 6:30 and 10 p.m., and someone backed into her car; there is damage to the front of her car, hood, light and bumper area; she noticed it this morning, and has no suspects; there is a red paint transfer; she was advised to notify her insurance company.

12:15 p.m. — Larceny reported on East River Street where the female came into the station reporting that a known person stole several items from her house, and sold them on eBay; the female was advised of options and stated she will get an officer a list of the items involved.

6 p.m. — Reporting person came to the station to report she was at a location about an hour ago and purchased a six-pack of beer; when she went back to her car, she was approached by two people, who claimed to be from the Alcohol Commission who showed her badges, and gave her a business card; the reporting person had a person in her car who is under age; the reporting person gave these two people the beer, as they told her they would charge her with furnishing alcohol to minors if she didn’t; officer will check with the store to try and get video surveillance.

6:04 p.m. — Caller through Shelburne Control on a 911 call reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be the IRS, and they had her personal identification; an officer spoke with the reporting person who said there was no emergency, and she was just concerned because of the call; the reporting person will follow up with the IRS.

8:22 p.m. — Larceny reported from Nina Pierce Circle, informed Control that she would like a return call regarding her medication being stolen; an officer spoke with the reporting person who claimed someone entered her apartment when she was gone, and took her Adderall, Oxycodone, Ambium, and Soma; there was nothing else missing or gone through, the reporting person was advised it would be logged.

Orange, April 23

2:25 a.m. — Hazard on South Main Street where an officer on patrol came across a large cow in the middle of the road, and causing a hazard to other motorists; the cow then ran back inside the barn; Control contacted the residence, and they will take care of the animal;

2:30 a.m. — Athol Police requested assistance with a domestic disturbance on Cottage Street where one person had barricaded the door, and officers were able to make entry through the rear of the apartment; officers spoke with those involved, and they were separated for the evening.

5:45 a.m. — Caller from Adams Street called Control about a noise complaint, a rooster crowing; the homeowner advised it will be logged and a message to be left for the ACO.

7:58 a.m. — Vandalism reported on East River Street from where Control got a call stating that the back window to his car was broken sometime over night, and it appears there is nothing missing; report taken.

8:30 a.m. — Reporting person called from West Orange Road says that around 6 a.m. he struck a deer, and there was damage to the front bumper, grill and headlight; he wanted it on record. No information about the deer on record.

11:19 a.m. — Officer was approached by a pedestrian stating he found a syringe along side of the sidewalk in the area of South Main Street, the officer located the syringe and placed it into the sharps container

9:50 p.m. — Caller from Horton Road complaining about a loud noise disturbance; officer responded and spoke with the homeowner who turned the music down for the evening.

10:06 p.m. — Officer on patrol noted a controlled burn from earlier in the day on South Main Street has rekindled; Orange Fire Department respond and took over the investigation.

Greenfield, April 24

1 a.m. — Reporting person on Deerfield Street states that a known person is intentionally throwing food and other items into the church’s driveway and harassing people who go there; the reporting person was able to show an officer a video surveillance of the involved male throwing trash out of his window onto church property, report issued

8:53 a.m. — Passing motorist advised she saw a drug transaction in the Big Y parking lots involving a gray Dodge Charger with a Connecticut plate that had then gotten on Interstate 91 south, and a white Cadillac that was still in the Big Y plaza; officer located the Cadillac, spoke with the operator; nothing observed in plain view.

9:33 a.m. — Disturbance in area of King’s Gym on Main Street where a male was yelling at people passing by; officer spoke with the known male who was very agitated; he was calmed, and moved on, for now; he was advised that if he escalated into scaring and threatening people again, he would be arrested.

1:03 p.m. — Walk-in to station and requests an officer, and the family would like police to know that the named, and known, person was just released from jail, and is already using Class A drugs again; officers advised.

1:13 p.m. — Caller reports a brother was injured by a sucker punch, and the brother is now in surgery, in Springfield; the reporting person was advised to tell the brother of his rights to seek charges with the court; she stated she will discuss it with him when she speaks with him next.

2:31 p.m. — Larceny reported on River Road where the reporting person says he left his silver iPad in his car on Davis Street, and some time during the day it went missing; the iPad serial number was given and the reporting person filled out a walk-in report; an officer was given a copy on this call.

3:01 p.m. — Accident with injuries reported on northbound Interstate 91, Fire Department responded trucks and ambulance, and services rendered.

3:58 p.m. — Hit-and-run reported on Chapman Street, but when an officer located the second vehicle nothing was needed.

4:53 p.m. — Despondent person reported at Clinical and Support Options on High Street where a Section 12 was issued for the involved person, from where the person was assisted to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

8:10 p.m. — Officer assisting a citizen who called to report a person had a road rage issue and pulled over on the side of Adams Road, and her husband is now talking to the other person, and everything seems to be OK; she called because she thought things were going to get worse; officers sent, gone on arrival of police.

9:33 p.m. — Caller from area of Main Street Bar and Grill on Main Street reports she gave a known male $60 for a Playstation, and he never came back with it; officer unable to locate the game, but is then speaking with the known male who stated he never took money from her or agreed to sell her anything.

10:29 p.m. — Caller reports a vehicle operating erratically and says that the car with two flat tires in the rear is now parked in the first house on Dickinson Street where the caller says the male is now inside this location; the caller updates that the male is coming out of the store, and just fell into the reporting person’s car, and the reporting person then said the male is walking back to his car, and just fell; officer on scene advises the male is running down Dickinson Street and just fell on his face; Medcare requested; the male had a laceration to the chin and was highly intoxicated; operating under the influence of liquor, and other charges will follow.

11:05 p.m. — Disturbance at the Miles and Main streets location where the caller says a male and female have been yelling and screaming for the past 20 minutes; it was determined by officers that the fight was between a known female and male, and it involved an ongoing dispute; they were separated on arrival of responding patrol units; the female left the area and was on her way back to her residence on Wells Street; officers assisted in separation of intoxicated people.

11:51 p.m. — Officer was flagged down by two vehicles reporting a road rage incident on the Mohawk Trail near Applebee’s; state police were alerted, but then it was handled locally, the officer discussed the situation with those involved, and they were moved along.

11:52 p.m. — Disturbance on Wells Street where the reporting person says a second-floor tenant has an intoxicated female causing a lot of noise; state police were then called to assist, due to all Greenfield units tied up; they spoke to the female who refused to open the door, and she was heard to be talking loudly before contact; same states she was headed to bed; she was advised she would be charged if there is continued disturbance; officer remained in the hallway for five minute, and the person was quiet.

11:55 p.m. — Disturbance on Frederick Road, where the caller says a male and female are arguing; officer responded and assisted with the verbal dispute between boyfriend and girlfriend. services rendered.
