Greenfield, MA – James P. Andrew, 70, of Greenfield passed Wednesday 5/13/26, surrounded by his loving family, at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. He was born in Brattleboro, VT on October 4, 1955, the son of William and Barbara (Holton) Andrew. Jim attended local schools and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School.
He served in the United States Marine Corp, obtaining the rank of Corporal.
Jim loved his job as a school bus driver, always using his imagination to make the kids smile. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim loved the outdoors and taking photos. He was a big joker and could always make people laugh.
Besides the love of his life, his wife of thirty two years, Valeda (Smith) Andrew, Jim leaves three step sons, Walter Gruszkowski and his wife Misty, and their children, Cameran, Eliza and Brendan; Michael Gruszkowski and his wife Mary, and their children, Jacob, Nate and Zak; and Joseph Gruszkowski and his wife Shayna and their children Kiara and Kayla; his siblings, Cliff, Paul, Dawn and Bruce Andrew; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Rocky and Acorn.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
