LEYDEN — Naturalist John Root presents “Songbirds of the Northeast” on Wednesday, March 22 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Town Hall.
Though it was originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, the presentation had to be rescheduled due to weather conditions.
The free presentation, organized by the Council on Aging, will feature images and sound recordings of the region’s songbirds. Bluebird boxes and perennials for attracting wildlife will be available for purchase after the presentation.
NORTHFIELD — Ed Finch will give a presentation on the Northfield Inn Friday, March 24, at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center.
The presentation is part of the “This is Your Town” breakfast series sponsored by the Council on Aging.
A $2.50 donation for breakfast is suggested, and reservations are encouraged. Call 413-498-2186 to reserve a seat.
NORTHFIELD — Dickinson Memorial Library is hosting a Tropical Island Party on Friday, March 24, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Programming Librarian Matt Atwood said the party will cater toward elementary school students but is open to all ages. Northfield Elementary School sixth-graders will help oversee the event.
The party will include simulated surfing, volcano eruptions, hula dancing, bowling with coconuts, “Pin Hawaii on the Pacific” and tropical snacks. Attendees can also do crafts, making their own leis and grass skirts, and learn how to play the ukulele from an instructor.
“We were all getting a little tired of the cold,” Atwood said. “So we decided to bring the beach to the Northfield library.”
The program is free.
WARWICK — The Warwick Firemen’s Association is holding its annual spaghetti supper Saturday, March 25, at 6 p.m. in Town Hall.
The menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, rolls and beverages. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years old.
