Jordan Grennier struck out three in five strong innings to lead Hubie’s Tavern to a 4-1 win over Dalton in a Mickey Mantle Baseball League game Monday night at Mohawk Trail Regional High School in Buckland.

Grennier allowed five hits and did not walk a batter to earn the win. Jacob Hubbard pitched the final two innings to earn the save.

Cody Letourneau led the offense with two hits and four RBIs.

• On Saturday, Hunter Wells and Hubbard each had one hit and two RBIs but Hubie’s suffered a 18-5 loss to Easthampton.

Jared Ackerman had a hit and scored a run, and Wyatt Bandy-Page pitched four strong innings.

Softball

Grizzly 12s fall

Gianna Conte struck out 14 in six innings of work but the Greenfield Grizzlies suffered a 6-1 loss to Southampton in a Suburban League Under-12 Division softball game Monday night at Veterans Memorial Field in Greenfield.

The Grizzlies were two-hit in the loss, as Kaitlin Lavoine and Alexis Barrett each had a hit. Ainslee Flynn played well defensively at catcher, where she was filing in for the usual starter.

Greenfield heads to Agawam A Wednesday and returns home against Agawam B Friday night at 7 at Vets.

Adult softball

Montague Co-Rec

Cody Pease belted a grand slam as part of a two-hit performance and Between the Uprights crushed Johnson Controls, 17-2, in a Montague Co-Rec Adult Softball League game Monday night at Unity Park in Turners Falls.

Jeff Holmes and Tina Riddell each had three hits in the win, and Camilla Thatcher added a pair of hits.

Patrick Demech tripled in the loss, and Britney Turner had a hit.

Golf

CC of G Ladies

Janet Andrews shot a low gross 24 in the A Division of the Odd Hole Tournament during the Monday Night Ladies League at the Country Club of Greenfield.

Diane Wood won low net at 18.8.

Donna Covey won low gross in the B Division with a 27, and Lisa Sullivan won low net with a 18.8. Martha Stiles won low gross in the C Division with a 29, and Susan Parker won low net with a 16.8.

Figure skating

Locals at District 1

Four area figure skaters under the direction of Suzanne McCaughtry from FMC Ice Sports in Greenfield competed at the Ice Skating Institute District 1 Championships over the weekend in Natick.

Ruth Morse competed in seven events and won gold medals in each, while Rose Dumaine competed in four events and won three gold medals and one bronze medal. Marina McMahon competed in two events, winning a silver medal and a pewter (fourth place) medal, and Ella Dubin competed in three events and won a gold medal, pewter medal and fifth-place medal.

DRIVE Summer Camp

The DRIVE Hoops Summer Basketball Clinic will take place from July 18 through July 22 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Greenfield High School.

The clinic is open for boys and girls ages 7 through 14 and will be run by GHS girls’ coach John Hickey and Hopkins Academy boys’ coach Angelo Thomas, as well player-coaches from GHS.

Orange Rec clinic

The Orange Recreation Association Basketball Clinic is taking registrations for boys and girls entering grades 4 through 9 this fall.

There are two sessions being offered, the first from July 11 through 15, and the second from July 18 through 22, each running from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Only 40 players will be allotted per session. The fee includes breakfast, lunch, T-shirt and five days of basketball skills, drills, scrimmages and fun.

Directed by Helene Holmes, the program is held at the Fisher Hill School in Orange, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. each weekday.

Erving Rec soccer camps

The Erving Recreation Commission, in conjunction with the Challenger British Soccer Camp program, will hold numerous soccer games at Erving Elementary School from July 18-22.

The camps offer the following: Mini Soccer (ages 3 to 6, from 8 to 9 a.m., $85), Half Day (ages 7 to 14, 9 a.m. until noon, $145), Full Day (ages 8 to 14, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., $190) and High School (ages 13 to 18, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., $100).
