WHATELY — A little less than 30 percent of registered voters in town came out Tuesday to vote for 12 incumbent town officers up for re-election to fill 13 ballot positions.
The only position on the ballot that wasn’t filled by an incumbent officer was a library trustee position.
Quinton Dawson, who was the only person on the ballot running for a library trustee seat, was re-elected for another three years. A second library trustee seat was left unfilled.
Of the nearly 50 votes cast during the election, seven of them were absentee ballots.
Moderator Richard Smith and Elector Under Oliver Smith Will Adelia Bardwell were both re-elected to one year terms.
Both officers will be up for re-election in 2017.
Catherine O’Hara was officially elected onto the School Committee, a seat she has been in since fall 2015. She was appointed to the seat by the Selectboard and School Committee after the seat was vacated.
Because she was appointed before the election, O’Hara was the only new face on the ballot this year.
Constables Thomas Mahar and Edwin Janiewski and Selectboard member Jonathan Edwards were re-elected to three-year terms, along with Town Clerk Lynn Sibley, Katherine Fleuriel, who has been re-elected as town assessor, Paul Fleuriel Jr., cemetery commissioner, and Michael Archbald, who will serve another three years on the board of health.
George Bucala Jr., town water commissioner, was also re-elected to yet another term. He has served the town for more than 30 years.
The officers who were elected for three year terms will be up for re-election again in 2019.
