SOUTH DEERFIELD — South Deerfield firefighters quickly put out a fire in a greenhouse on Eastern Avenue Wednesday morning.
South Deerfield Deputy Fire Chief Dennis Patterson said the fire broke out around 6:45 a.m. in the greenhouse at 54 Eastern Ave.
The owner was using a hose to extinguish the flames when firefighters arrived, Patterson said, and it only took them about 10 minutes to fully knock the fire down.
Patterson said the structure retained minor damage, but no one was injured. He said he believes the fire was caused by a wood stove.
