HOLYOKE — More than 200 arrests have been made as a result of a month-long, multi-agency drug investigation, Holyoke Police said Friday.

Investigators involved in operation “Full Throttle II,” have uncovered 8,000 bags of heroin, 28 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of crack, three firearms and $14,000 cash since March 1, police said.

Officials from the Hampden district attorney’s office, FBI, and Massachusetts State Police assisted Holyoke police in the investigation. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency also contributed to the investigation.

There were a total of eight search warrants served throughout the investigation. Police said the operation stemmed from an effort to curtail gang and opioid-related activity in the area.

The first phase of the operation, dubbed “Full Throttle I,” wrapped up in April 2015 and resulted in 211 arrests, 116 of which were drug-related, police said. Authorities also seized 9,000 bags of heroin, five firearms, one kilogram of cocaine and $60,000 in cash.
