SHELBURNE FALLS — Last year, John Geyster of Shelburne Falls completed a 5½-month, 2,100-mile hike across the Appalachian Trail.
On Friday at 7 p.m. Geyster will give a slide show presentation and talk at the Arms Library, at 60 Bridge St. Traveling with his son and his son’s girlfriend, John Geyster took many stunning photos of the journey through 14 states, numerous rivers and mountainous terrain. There will be a question-and-answer period after the slide show.
Geyster, 57, had dreamed of taking the trip since he was an 11-year-old Boy Scout, and has a lot to say about how to plan and prepare for such a journey.
