Do you remember the day after the presidential election in 2008? We were told to sit down and be quiet. Anyone who said anything negative about the new president or protested his election were labeled a racist or bigot.
Not so today in 2017. Do you sense a double standard?
In Texas, 2016, Mammoth oil field was discovered. Twenty billion barrels of oil and 1.6 billion barrels of natural gas. According to the USGS, this is the largest continuous oilfield discovery in the United States.
In Nigeria, 2016, According to Bloomberg news, a billion barrel oil field was discovered off the coast of Nigeria.
Looks like we’ll be burning fossil fuels for the next millennia or two.
Also, in my mind the minimum wage is just a number. Make it $20 or $25 per hour. Whatever the number is, all costs of goods and services, other wages, salaries and rents will eventually rise to the new level. Twenty dollars an hour will be the new $8.25
