Greening Greenfield Signs of Spring Nature Walk.

Join naturalists Pat Serrentino and Ted Watt on a walk at Bennett Meadow Wildlife Management Area in Northfield on Satruday, March 19 at 9 a.m. Welcome spring to the valley by exploring fields, marshes, pools and forests for returning songbirds and waterfowl. The walk is free and open to the public (age 8 and over). Heavy rain or snow will cancel. Dress for possible cold and wet conditions. Binoculars will be helpful, but not required. Adaptive winter recreation for people with brain injuries

Bald Eagles of Barton Cove presentation

Join William Dean, author, amateur photographer, and nature enthusiast, on Wednesday, March 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for a look at the Barton Cove eagle nest during the recent breeding seasons. The multimedia program will be held at Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center. The Barton Cove nest has been unusually productive during the past few seasons, with two to three eaglets successfully fledged. This program provides a look at these eagles with a photo and video presentation, interspersed with stories and observations. Highlights of other regional eagle nests will also be included.
