Franklin County lacks public eateries to bring your dog — there aren’t restaurants and cafes that allow Molly or Bruno in, as do many establishments in Europe more and more.
But on Sunday, dogs are welcome for brunch at a fundraiser for the Dakin Humane Society in Leverett at Quonquont Farm in Whatley.
Mutts & Mimosas happens from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s the human society’s fourth annual brunch for dogs and their human companions.
The cost is $50. Brunch incluses mimosas and there is a silent auction, raffle, apple picking and activities for guests and their doggies.
Food for the dogs is extra.
The beautiful farm is just north of the center of town at 9 North St. and easily accesible from Interstate 91. For directions, go to www.quonquont.com.
For more information about the event, go to dakinhumane.org.
About 200 people and their dogs are expected.
Quonquont Farm is also hosting a CISA dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
It is the only annual fundraiser for CISA, or Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture, based here in Deerfield.
Last year, the dinner raised $53,000 for CISA.
Tickets are $125. Reservations are necessary and may be made at buylocalfood.org.
The dinner includes an open bar with wine, beer and other beverages. Catering is provided by Chef Andy Cox leading the Dining Services at Smith College team.
Quonquont has an event area inside a barn where dinner is held.
There will be a short live auction, which is also a fundraiser for CISA.
The group’s mission is to stengthen farms and engage the community to build the local food economy.
The farm is at 10 North St. in Whately.
All tickets will be held at the door. If you do not receive an email from CISA confirming your order, please contact Jennifer Williams at 413-665-7100, ext. 10.
